"I recently ordered a takeaway for a change from hone cooking during the Coronavirus pandemic. I telephoned the order ahead and it was ready upon my arrival. There was a small hitch with the order which they corrected. However, despite being full of anticipation for good old fashioned fish and chips, the experience was dreadful. The chips smelt awful as if the cooking oil used was past its sell by date. The chips were undercooked and soggy. They tasted awful. The cod was better and the batter was acceptable but tainted by the cooking oil. The steak and kidney pie had been reheated in a microwave oven and was soggy and chewy. Awful. The saveloy was barely warm and tasted like no other I have ever tasted. The curry sauce in fairness was good and tasty. Most of the meal was thrown away. I won’t be back here. Sorry. This is not the Christy’s I remember of old. What happened??"

"The Ashley offers great value for money and has been a favorite spot for me and my son over the years. However, we recently noticed that the portion sizes on the daytime fixed menu are smaller compared to the evening fixed menu, which was disappointing. Some items on the menu require an extra charge, even though they are a part of the fixed offering. The kids menu is decent, but more suitable for younger children. The service is excellent, particularly with Tracey, a new addition to the team, ensuring everything was up to standard. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming for both children and dogs, and its location near the train station makes it convenient for travelers to stop by. The outdoor area is small but available. Overall, it is a worthwhile visit if you are in the area and haven't been before."

"My partner and I recently had dinner at this restaurant, which is located in a beautiful setting with charming spatial features. It is housed in an old pub that has been renovated. We decided to skip the starters as none of them seemed appealing to us. However, we did try the oyster mushrooms, but we wanted a different side dish so we didn't order them. We both ordered fillet steaks, one with roasted garlic butter cooked medium rare and the other cooked medium with bearnaise sauce. The kitchen accidentally mixed up our orders, but we didn't mention it as we were hungry. The steak itself was very tasty, and we both rated it an 8/10. Overall, the meal was good. My fat chips were slightly undercooked, but the mushrooms were perfectly cooked. We each had a cocktail, and my smoked drink added a nice touch to the experience. I would recommend The Plough Inn, but it is a bit on the expensive side compared to other steak restaurants we have visited."

"Working at the studios in Shepperton, Nando 's in Walton on Thames is more or less around the corner (if you don 't want to do Barley 's Mow . Take away usually works quite well, although you should check the bag you 're handed (most service crafts will ask you to do anyway , it 's often that over hectic that something might be missing. Since most of the people working there go out of their way to make it right , just try to be nice and you get a friendly smile in return.I am saying this for a reason ... Quite often I witness guests being rude to service people or other guests, I have the highest respect for the young ladies (and few guys working there.Food is good for the price (keep in mind that this is still London ish, so expect to pay slightly more for a full meal than you would, e.g., on the continent : salads are actually really worth their money. Although this is a chicken restaurant focusing on ... well ... erm ... chicken, you have some (limited choice on the menu. The Veggie Cataplana is my favorite being German I simply prefer a bit more material on the dish than most of the mains or pita or whatever : Service: As mentioned above, most staff members are doing their best and succeeding. There are hick ups at times when we visited last, we were directed to a table number only to learn that the table had been taken for quite some time, so we had to re order our meals at the service desk to be brought to a different table (that we chose ourselves, probably creating yet another chain reaction chaos later . Eating in: It 's just way too loud. It is SO LOUD that you have to raise your own volume over pain threshold, adding to the mix. If you 're fine with this atmosphere : Go for it."

"A beautiful pub located right on the Thames. Absolutely fantastic waitresses and a special mention to Max, the manager who has been very hospitable, kind and generous. Fantastic food (the pork belly scallops are a must), great selection of alcoholic beverages, variety of children’s meals, lovely views outside where you can eat drink. I certainly will be a regular there! Thank you again."

"I should start by saying that we really like the coffee here.... But the staff are just awful! Rude, indifferent and not particularly pleasant, never mind friendly. On our last four visits, there were hardly any other customers around yet the staff could not be bothered getting our orders right. All they seem to care about is to have a good time chatting or playing their own music. They do not care about the experience of their customers. The other day there were three staff chatting very loudly with their two friends occupying all of the front part of the cafe. There was no music playing to at least mask some of their noise so we ended up drinking our coffees very quickly whilst listening to their pathetic conversation. Awful place I'm afraid."

"The best pizza express we've ever had, and we've tried a few around the country. This location in Cobham outshines our two local ones in Ashford, Kent! We will definitely be returning to Cobham when we are in the area again. The pizzas were perfect - hot, tasty, and beautifully presented. The staff deserve credit too - they were friendly and experienced. A top-notch pizza experience, thank you! I tried to redeem my birthday reward or the free side, but when I entered it into the app, it did not adjust the price to free - instead, it wanted to charge me for it. I spoke with a staff member about this issue, but they were unable to resolve it for me."

"Having not been to Layla's for some time we decided to try it for Sunday Lunch. We stopped going regularly as we felt the standard had dropped. However we were very pleasently surprised. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and when the food started to arrive (we had 8 different dishes on the table) we were delighted that we had decided to come back. QAfter the meal we spoke at length to the manager Mehran who had just returned after an absence of some years having been the manager when the restaurent was first opened. He was obviously fueled with ambition for the future and we wish him well he has certainly made an excellent start. We will be returning to this great establishment very soon."

"Went here for lunch. First thing that hit me as we walked in was the smell of bleach -a bit like a swimming pool . It's nice to know that the place is kept clean but a bit off putting when having a meal. My overwhelming impression was of a place that looks a bit tired and not very cosy and inviting. The carpet looked faded, the menus were slightly grubby and nobody greeted us as we came in the door. As a vegetarian I didn't feel very inspired by the menu as the only options I could see were sandwiches or baked potatoes. I opted for a baked potato which was very nice but it would have been good if there had been some options for vegans or veggies amongst the main meals. On the plus side the lady who served us was very friendly and it's nice to see a local pub still thriving a Claygate."

Additionally, the main course allows for only four choices, which can feel restrictive and may lead diners to feel like they're wasting their options. The menu also states that if diners leave a significant amount of food uneaten, they will be charged the full price, so the restaurant may need to reconsider their approach to menu selection. Overall, it would be nice to see a more casual dining experience that allows for more variety and flexibility in ordering."

"I had never been to this restaurant before but the elegant ambiance suggested a special dining experience. I was not disappointed. The beetroot carpaccio was delicious and healthy. For my main course, I had the roasted hake served on a mussel chowder with seasonal greens and new potatoes. The fish was perfectly cooked with crispy skin and tender flesh. The chowder was delicious and the green vegetables had a nice al-dente bite. Everything was served at the right temperature, which is something that can make or break a meal. I give the chefs and waitstaff a perfect 10/10 for getting everything just right. My friends and I will definitely be returning."

"Our daughter just recently celebrated her 8th Birthday at Pizza express, Cobham M25 services. From the moment we spoke to Fazel, and Elise on the phone we knew it was going to be a great party, but they really did exceed all the expectations we already had. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly team, and taken to our designated party area which they had decorated with balloons, they had created a pizza making station for the children too. When the guests arrived they were taken on a behind the scenes tour of the kitchen, and restaurant, which they loved! The chef then gave all the children a live demonstration on how to make different pizzas, from classic to romana. They were then off to make their own pizzas, they all loved rolling out their own dough and creating their own pizzas. The Children all went to wash their hands, chat for a few minutes then they were all ready very quickly. They were provided with Cordial and dough balls, the parents were able to order refreshments aswell. The pizza is great here too, next time we fancy our pizza express fix we will be coming here. The Chef and Fazel were engaging with the kids, cracking jokes and making it a fun experience for all the children. Afterwards the children were all awarded with personalised certificates, and we all sang happy birthday. The party was very good value for money, entertaining for children age 7-14, each one of the staff made us feel special, and nothing was too much. The atmosphere is lovely there. Olivia our daughter said it was the best party she ever had, we had great feedback from our guests, and our 14 year old son and his best friend had great fun too. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone for their childrens next party."

"I had driven past this restaurant many tomes and always wanted to try it. As a surprise I was taken by my family for Mother’s Day and thoroughly enjoyed it and I can’t wait to return. It is run by a family and the atmosphere is cosy and welcoming with Italian music in the background. It was nice to see the chef and kitchen staff cooking the food in the kitchen and everything is cooked fresh as when my son asked for muscles they checked and said there was one portion left. I had crab ravioli to start which was lovely light and fresh followed by halibut marinara which was vibrant and flavoursome. A good variety of food and drinks in a lovely atmosphere I can’t wait to return."

"My lunch experience at this restaurant was disappointing. I requested for my halat to be served on a separate dish, but it arrived on the same plate as the rest of my food. When I asked for it to be corrected, it was transferred to separate plates, but then I had to fetch my own sauces despite being told they would be brought to the table. Unfortunately, my kartoffel was lukewarm and my bons were cold. Overall, I will not be returning to this Sainsburys restaurant. Additionally, when they finally changed my plate, there was a mix-up with the dishes and it was handled with a smile."

"Myself , husband , some and mother in law booked for Sunday lunch, having been about 8-9 times before we knew the meat could be a little hit and miss (sometimes really tough and chewy) but we thought we 'd go again and hope for a good day! We were the only table in for about 30 min then throughout the entire lunch only one other table came . The buffet style started was a let down all seafood its of boney fish nothing meat or fruit based my son (18months) loves fish but because of al the bones couldn 't really eat it, I we never order the soup as the times we have it 's been like water !! Sunday lunch is suppose to be comforting , lots of vegetable selections , lovely fluffy yorkshires it 's suppose to be like mum made accept this lunch the beef was so incredibly chewy , the Yorkshire would have been perfect if they weren 't swimming with oil. The potatoes weren 't brown and crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle they were pale and bland . The veg was like something you 'd get in school dinner hall ... carrots, broccoli and cauliflower all cooked together in one pot . They use to have all the veg Separate and a much bigger better selection , there was no stuffing although when asked they do reheat some in microwave for me .. which was awful (unfortunately) The gravy was the only Good thing about the meal . The dessert table also use to be lovely except NEVER eat the cheesecake they always use gelatine and it 's never dissolved properly so you end up gagging on tiny bits of rubbery gelatine! They use to have a cheese selection they don 't seem to anymore . They staff were friendly but not very aware if all out played being full on clearing the table . Such a shame"
