"I have been to this restaurant twice in the last month and both visits were perfect. The first was with a friend on a Tuesday early evening and the second was a large family gathering on a busy Saturday night. The atmosphere is cozy and reminiscent of a traditional English pub, with lots of antiques and interesting items to admire while enjoying your meal or drink. The staff were attentive and polite, the service was prompt, and all of the meals were delicious and generously portioned. I highly recommend this place for a classic English pub-restaurant experience."

"Great little find. Good pub with tasty food and friendly service. There was a good choice of pub food, freshly made and served hot. Portion sizes are large and we struggled to finish our plates but it wasn’t for a want of trying. Our son has a food allergy and the waitress immediately identified what items of the food we would be worried about and reassured us it was safe. There was a good selection of Gluten free meals listed on the chalkboard. All in all, a great place to eat and we will definitely be back."

"Dinner was included as part of our Secret Escapes deal. We booked a table in advance as required. The manager greeted us and said a staff member would show us to a table. The restaurant is on two levels with a bar at the top. We got a table on the lower level overlooking the lake. There is also outside seating again on two levels. We ordered a half of lager and a pint of John Smiths. The menu is a limited version which is included in the package but would cost £21.50 for two courses or £27.50 for three courses. Decided to have two courses and ordered lamb loin and plaice. In the meantime a staff member came to say they had run out of John Smiths, we asked what other bitter they had and were told Peroni or Fosters both of which are lagers! My husband went to see what the choices actually were and chose another drink. The restaurant was quite empty for a Saturday night with 2 other tables occupied. There was some bread and butter on the table. The meals came. The lamb had vegetables on the plate, the plaice was without vegetables. 5 minutes later the vegetables arrived in a separate bowl. The lamb had a lot of fat on it and wasn’t that well cooked. The plaice was fine but no fish knife supplied! For pudding we chose cheesecake which was also disappointing, very soft, almost runny and the biscuit base was not firm. Not very impressed with the food or service, the staff were very young and just going through the motions much in the same way as the kitchen staff it appears based on the quality of the food. Would not recommend or return based on this visit"

"I went sailing around the Solent and stopped at Cowes Marina for the night. In the morning at 07:00, I had breakfast at this place. The person who cooked it was also the one who brought it to my table. The food was great! Interestingly, the same person who cooked and served it also cleared my table. Meanwhile, the guy who seemed to be the boss, along with another young lad, was playing on their phones. however the food was really good, thanks chef."

"My wife and I dined at this restaurant last Wednesday evening on the 13th of September. We were warmly welcomed and given time to peruse the menu, which had a fantastic variety of dishes. We decided on a set menu for two, which was absolutely delicious. The food was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Furthermore, the owner, along with his young waitress and waiter, were very friendly and attentive. They even asked if we wanted to take our time before selecting a dessert. My only regret is that we live on the mainland and won't be able to visit this amazing restaurant again soon."

"Now THE BINSTEAD ARMS. Visited the Pub on 16th Jan' for a few drinks with friends. Having a catch up with friends down from Suffolk As a Local , this was the first time I'd been in the Pub since its change of name. Superb ! Chloe , was spot on. Efficient , Sociable and offered service with a smile. The Guiness was excellent at for these days unless your in a W'spoons a reasonable £5.50 a pint. I had half a dozen. A cold night outside but a roaring log fire warmed our cockles. We didnt eat on this occassion but the food looked superb. Indeed , the Landlord of another popular IW Pub was dining there that evening. The Landlady was very friendly and chatty. Our friends from Suffolk had two Labradors who were made welcome. The Pub itself is immaculate and the Toilet facilities spotless. I'll certainly be going back. The background music was another good touch too , great playlist !"

"My freind had eaten his food before mine didnt ever arrive. Appalling service, lazy distracted staff all totally disorganised Arrogant unapolagetic management will soon learn that customers vote with their feet. Last weeks nut roast was raw in the middle but I was so pleased there was a vegan menu I didnt complain. Best part of tha meal was the fresh carrots. Will not go there until they change hands again Such a shame, the last owners had built up a brilliant reputation over years of hard work for really good freshly made vegan food. So disapointed we came long way for this ****."

"This charming little shop offers more than just coffee to-go, as it has indoor seating. Although it's not quite a cafe due to limited seating and lack of restroom facilities (which was inconvenient for some visitors), the staff are extremely friendly and the coffee is excellent. The cakes were also very tasty. If you enjoy coffee and cake, don't require a restroom, and don't mind cozy spaces, this place is perfect for you."

"Located at the far end of Shanklin seafront, below the Chines, this restaurant was a hidden gem. We went for dinner and enjoyed the lovely food and atmosphere. I started with the Goats cheese and had Seafood spaghetti for my main, while my wife had Tiger prawns followed by fish & chips. All of the dishes were delicious. The restaurant was able to accommodate our pram, and the changing facilities were convenient. Overall, we would recommend this restaurant."

"We have used this place since the 90s and we had our local friends group there for Christmas Dinner here 2022. My husband had a message pop up advertising £25 for 2 drink 2 meals and urged us to go down. I urged him to phone and check, was told 'yes I 'm sure that 's everything on the menue ' booked tonight (wed) and went down. Was taken to the outside (slightly outdated) dining room for the meal despite offering the bar area, reason we did that was because waitress was already muttering 'can 't do 6 things at once ' in front of us. We sat and when someone (not waitress) asked our order we ordered drinks and asked if everything was actually on the 2 for £25 deal (again) server said he would check. Server came back with a word document with what was/wasn 't on deal not massively impressive given the FB promo. We felt a bit embarrassed at this point as he 'd been gone a while. Ordered 2 beyond burgers checked fries were on the menu as all the word doc. said was 'beyond burger ' and previously its come with different chips due to no meat contamination. 45mins later food came (this is a 1/2 empty room I can 't call it a restaurant). Waitress literally dropped plates and shot off. I flagged her to ask for another drink, she left and we looked at burgers that looked quite greasy and had cheese on. Bearing in mind we have ordered and had these burgers before which are advertised as vegan we were surprised at cheese. Couldn 't check menu as we were just shown a hasty word doc. When the waitress returned with drinks we asked her what these burgers were, she came back saying meat; we asked to cancel order as expecting vegan. Male server came back v defensive and quite patronising 'they are meant to look like meat it 's veggie hence the cheese vegetarians can eat cheese '. Then went. At this point we were both embarrassed and upset; hadn 't been asked if we needed any extra sauces/sides. Had to wait a further 5 mins before someone else appeared to say we would just pay for drinks and leave food. £23 spent for drinks and poor service. As we left the restaurant the glass collector who took our plates was very verbal into the kitchen 'look they 've not touched it ' and the male server was seemingly angry when we went to the bar to pay for drinks. The barman that served was very polite which shows its not all lost but the service was poor and its put us off as locals which is a real shame."

"I recently enjoyed a fantastic Sunday roast at The Vine! I had the lamb while my husband had pork, both served with stuffing and Yorkshire pudding. The meal also included greens, carrots, swede, broccoli, roast potatoes, and roast parsnips. We decided to pay extra for a side of delicious cauliflower cheese. All the vegetables were fresh, not frozen, and everything was topped off with perfect gravy. We also had a pint of cider and lager, and the total bill came to £44. The food was served hot, cooked perfectly, and there was plenty of it. The table service was excellent as well. All the inside tables were booked when we arrived, which was not surprising given how great everything was. It was simply a perfect meal, thank you to everyone at The Vine!"

"So frustrated and disgusted over my local takeaway. Continuous mistakes near enough every order and friends/family have had the same problem. Not only was the order wrong but when I called to explain I was confronted with rude staff telling me that I was in the wrong (what happened to the customer is always right), finally they decided to send me the correct meals of which partly included literally a tea spoonful of garlic mayo in which was told it would be a pot as they messed up the order.. Then when the delivery arrived the delivery driver banged on the door so loud in which I have a ten month old baby asleep inside... But he then shouts at me in the street for about ten minutes whilst he's shouting at me, I slammed the door shut and he continued to shout and scream all ods."

"We went here as it had some great GF options listed including a pie which never happens. I don't know if it's because it was a weekday or not but there was only one chef on and we waited an hr for our food to arrive. We kept being told we arr next and it's being plated up. I am disappointed that there was no indication on arrival that there were delays to the service which leads me to think this is standard. We didn't have dessert as we were originally planning as we didn't want to wait another hour for that. My partner who had the GF pie later had a major stomach upset throughout the night and most of the next day. I imagine this could be because the lone chef was under a lot of pressure. I feel should there have been more people in the kitchen this would have been a much better experience and is probably down to saving money, which unfortunately meant we didn't spend as much in there as we would have."

"had a very pleasant meal in the kyngswell huhn with speck and brie in a beautiful sauce and fresh vegetables and sourté potatoes followed by a very tasty brombeere and apple crumbs. my companion had lasagna and chocolate brownie with ice and sauce, which was also well cooked. this was the most tasty meal I have experienced for a very long time and I recommend to the kyngswell, I like the atmosphere here too full character and old world charm can not wait to go back! thank you, kyngswell."
