"Sitting outside, I glanced over at the bigger breakfast that was served on my neighbour's table. That's a lot of breakfast I thought. More a food challenge without the cheap winners t-shirt prize. It looked awesome: 2 bacon, a cumberland sausage, three hash browns, 2 slices of fried bread, grilled tomato, beans, mushrooms, black pudding and 2 fried eggs. My stomach was still recovering from the enslaught of cheese I had for yesterday's lunch. Else the bigger breakfast it would have been (a steal at £10). Instead an oat milk flat white was all I needed to calm the belly and warm the hands. The female staff members were attentive and humble. The rate at which breakfasts flew out of the kitchen onto peoples tables was reflective of a well run cafe. It may have been cold, but I enjoyed relaxing outside amongst the Lichfield revelers on Bird Street. As always I headed onwards to The Cheese Cavern to fill my bike's luggage compartments with France's finest."

"Cosy lounge area with doors leading to well kept, tiered outdoor area. Toilets would be difficult to navigate for wheelchair users, it's a very narrow thoroughfare from the lounge that takes you the otherside of the serving area, so the barstaff know where you're off to! Toilets are clean and looked after. Pub can get busy, so for evenings and expected busy times (when sports events are on, weekends, bank holidays, etc maybe worth booking ahead. Staff have always been friendly and approachable (you know how sometimes if you try and grab a member of staffs' attention if they're on floor service and they look at you with daggers for disturbing them?? Well not here! . I've noticed the staff engaging with customers in the bar area, you get a real sense that the staff know their locals, but it doesn't have an intimidating vibe as some local pubs do. Good menu, vegetarian options, never had a bad meal or service here, (sharing platter starter is very filling! . It's also worth mentioning that my first visit here was for a life celebration after a funeral and the catering was amazing."

"Disappointing! go here regularly but on this occasion beef very gristly and only two tiny piece given. Our table was furthest away from carvery in what looked like a part used for over spill, having booked in advance would have thought we would have been allocated a better positioned table. Had to ask twice for drinks. Some food we had to wait for whilst they replenished it causing more of a queue"

"We visited on a Saturday lunch. Lovely restaurant. Friendly service. Superb set menu. The 3 courses were delicious. The pork dish was sublime with the best crackling we have ever had. The puddings were exceptional. People should be queuing in the street for food this good at such a great price. We travelled 45 miles and glad we did. A great little gem of a restaurant."

"We visited this restuarant with friends on a busy Saturday evening. We chose the all you can eat menu and had a selection of dishes to share. which was very reasonably priced for the food we received. The dishes were plentiful, fresh and tasty. We were a party of six and were in the front area of the restuarant and the table was probably designed for a party of four not six this was our ionly gripe. The seats in the main area wer circular and this probably would have been better for our party for space and have the luxury of food being placed on a Lazy Susan whisch is always great for larger parties. The drinks were reasonably priced and on par with other restuarants in the area. The waiting staff were very friendly and efficient. We had an enjoyable meal and will definately be back to sample some other food choices"

"A fantastic venue, with an excellent choice of menu items, all cooked to a high standard and full of flavour. We attended The Trooper, last night, for my father’s birthday. The venue is very well presented and immediately sets the right example of ambience for a social dining experience. We were shown to our table by Jaydon, who proceeded to take our drinks orders before returning to discuss food. Jaydon was extremely friendly, well presented and he knew the menu inside and out. Jaydon recommended the Crispy Beef Teriyaki starter for my father, which was out of this world. The sticky bbq pork belly and garlic creamed mushroom pot also went down well with the family. For mains, Jaydon had recommended the Wagyu fillet for my father, with sautéed greens, whilst myself and others chose the 8oz Fillet, the Mediterranean chicken skewer and the crispy chicken burger. The mains went down a treat and none of us were left disappointed. Portion sizes were excellent and the seasoning and taste of our chosen dish perfection. Once again, Jaydon checked on our table routinely, engaging in some back and forth humour with my father and learned that it was in fact his birthday. Before presenting us with our desserts, Jaydon arranged for a slate tile wishing my father a happy birthday. During this time the Venue Manager attended to check on how our experience had been, for which we were all full of praise not only for the cuisine, but for her staff. I would absolutely recommend you give the Trooper a go for your next outing. A fantastic experience that none of us will forget in a hurry."

"Visited here with my wife Glenys and friend Gerry for lunch. It was a very pleasant experience. From the warm atmosphere both physically and otherwise it was a lovely lunch. The menu was reasonable as was the prices by today's standards. Service was friendly and quick. The food was excellent especially the lovely crispy chips. I have tried, perhaps too many, chips in restaurants and these were top class, probably say the best. Our only reservation was pulling off their car park which in the rush hour was not easy. Apart from this minor comment which they cant do anything about it was an excellent experience."

"Poor food. 2 x kids burgers with stale/dry/hard bread. Burgers were as thin as thin can be and burnt/dry. Chips (all meals) were lukewarm at best. Really disappointing having had a good Sunday lunch there in the past. Beef sandwich was good and the fish finger sandwich was good but overall, disappointing. Told the waitress who did offer to redo them but our party were that hungry they’d tolerated it and half eaten them (not that they were that big to begin with). Chef was informed by colleague so I guess that is that then."

"very quiet for a restaurant on a Saturday evening, we should have seen this as a warning sign! the dinge began to go bad when the first drinks arrived at our table. I had a whole prise peroni that was knocked over by the waitress. she went and took some tissue I thought was for me, but she used it to wipe the table while giggling about the chaos I was in. I had to ask for more tissue to dry me off. I asked if we could have these round drinks free and she said yes. no attempt was made to delete the floor that was a pool beer and an accident waiting for it. we ordered chicken breast that looked more than it was taken by a budgie it was so small...more"

"I cannot speak for the whole party of seven. The staff were great friendly and efficient. We were particularly grateful when they turned off the music! Atmosphere was a bit lacking as this was Tuesday lunchtime very different to the Sarurday buzz of my first visit. My fish gujons were disappointing: more batter than fish. And my wife 's roasted halloumi lacked halloumi, tiny flakes of which finally came in a small bowl when she complained. Overall impression: I think a beer drinker would enjoy the place more than I did. Unfortunately, I gave up alcohol recently (doctor 's advice). Thanks anyway. We had a good family chat in a quiet environment."

"I was lucky to have won 2 carverys over a Facebook competition. they were amazing! very delicious and absolutely great! the service was also fantastic! I recommend the hollybush restaurant. we have visited many paintings and every time was great! our children also love their meals. they do a fab kinder meal deal where they get their main meal, a drink and ice cream or obstinate! so if they look for a delicious Sunday dinner that is actually massive, then the hollybush is the place for them! not only take my word for it. try it:"

"Booked a table for 4 at the Lee garden Chinese restaurant in Lichfield , it was my partner 40th Birthday, The restaurant got us in on the day which was nice. so it was supposed to be something special, for a special occasion. Got into the restaurant and the waitress came over and gave us some prawn crackers, then took our order for drinks so far so good. The drinks came over, then the waiter took our food order. We ordered Two hot and sour soups, sweet and sour Cantonese chicken, Noodles, Sizzling lamb Cantonese style, special curry, Vegetable curry, egg fried rice x 2, chips and spring roles. The food took over a hour to come out which wasn’t great. when it arrived the hot and sour soups were Luke warm and looked like they had been in and out of a microwave. The lamb Cantonese style tasted like cheap meat it wasn’t lamb, my mate said he wasn’t sure what it was, It was dreadful. Both rice dishes were Luke warm and the noodles were cold. To cut a long story short apart from the chips which were Fantastic, the rest of the food was a microwave job.. Plus the special curry hardly had any meat in it!! For £13 plus a main meal I find this an absolute disgrace!! They took the rices, noodles and soups off the bill, which still came to nearly £80… It was a rip off, we paid £80 for food heated up in a microwave.. Please avoid, I felt sick after this meal and I shall personally not ever return to this place. Michael Wan's Mandarin in Blackpool Is a premier league Chinese, the food fabulous! This establishment however is far from that ,it’s utter garbage.. The staff were nice People, It’s not their fault , but the food like I said was a 0/10!"

"We visited Eastern Eye on the recommendation of our son. The owner, Abdul, welcomed us warmly and even prepared a goat curry for us, despite it not being on the menu. It was absolutely delicious. Our group had a fantastic selection of curries, which I personally believe are as good, if not better, than those in the Balti triangle in Birmingham. As visitors from Scotland, we felt very welcome and enjoyed the superb food, attentive staff, and personal touch from Abdul. I highly recommend this restaurant for a wonderful dining experience."

"I ordered a Biryani via the Just Eat app, in the “comments” section I requested a madras sauce. When the meal arrived it came with a creamy lentil sauce. I called Paprika to query the order and was rudely told they don’t read comments I should have telephoned the request through. I’m just glad I didn’t comment on an allergy ! I raised a case with Just Eat who said they can’t ask vendors to read comments suggested I should have telephoned it through. That ivsuggests renders the App pointless, I may as well just telephoned the vendor in future. Paprika’s response was rude obstructive, I will not use them again. I binned the meal."

"Went with a party of 9 on 29th December 17 for lunch. Food was beautiful. I had salmon salad which was fabulous. The steak pie was a favourite and the faggots big hit. We had all travelled from various places including France to meet up and we had a great 3 hours there. Will be going again. Host was brilliant and friendly and pup was lovely."

"I used to come here years ago and use to be place to have couple drinks and start a night off. However ... me and my partner fancied some food , and I always felt I'd come here for some food, we had the turkey Sunday dinner. I have to be hoenst now, it wasn't great at all , I was so disappointed. The broccoli was hard ,the potato's was hard ,so was the Yorkshire pudding and also my partner was so disappointed and that kind of upset me also has not just me that felt this. Ot was very busy and it really great looking place , but just going by my own experience today and was not happy , we paid on the order On table and other than drop the drinks off we didn't really see the service at all to say anything. So kind of just left to be hoenst . It's pretty disappointing cause I know back in the day was good place to come but yeah, I don't think going to return,definitely not for the Sunday dinner I know that ,if its like we had today"

"It was what you expect from a F&B's. The staff were very courteous and the food was of good quality. I do think it's quite expensive for what it is but I did have a voucher for 25% off total bill that made it better value. We were placed near the door to the toilets and as such could smell a faint hint of them everytime some opened the door to use them."

"The reason this isn't one star is Shona the waitress who deserves better than this graveyard of a restaurant. Food was absolutely the lowest quality stuff I've ever encountered. We ordered steaks that were fatty, tough and terribly cooked (not seasoned, cooked at too low a temperature) the ploughman's sharer is basically stuff from Tesco's warmed up and served with the cheapest sort of bread. We'd have brought it up but frankly it's clear your chef can't do better so what's the point. Oh, we ordered pulled pork that wasn't. I suspect it was leftovers. Not sure the chef knows what pulled pork is. Another thing while we're at it, the other guy who bought our wine didn't even bother to open it. The place had four tables on a Saturday night, and one of them was complaining about the food to the staff all night. Maybe the reason this is the emptiest restaurant in Lichfield is because it has an old fashioned menu and quality that would shame a Wetherspoons. Will never return ."

"The Redmore Inn has significantly improved over the last two years. Their food and service have always been great previously, but unfortunately, today, the food quality was very disappointing. I'm a big red meat eater and know and cook meat very well and must say the chef does not have a clue to properly cook a steak and the beef roast was inedible tough. But also the quality of meat being served was bad. We have looked forward to our an unnual family pre-Chritmas Fayre dinner but was unfortunately spoiled by the poor mains. The staters and deserts were good, and as always, the staff is friendly, helpful, and always smiling. But I can't recommend their festive menu as I just can not justify the cost against the poor quality mains we had tonight."
