"We went to the Bull's head for lunch. We didn't have a reservation but were seated without a problem. There were only two staff serving including the bar because one staff member had not turned up. Although they were clearly rushed off their feet, the two staff worked really hard and there were no significant delays in being served. The food was quite pricey, understandable given the pubs location, and a little disappointing. I had the fish finger sandwich. There weren't enough of fingers in the sandwich and the taste was underwhelming. The fries were excellent though. The others in our party expressed satisfaction with the food, although it was not anything that would entice us to come back. Full credit to the staff though for their hard work in difficult circumstances. "My family and I visited the Swan pub with relatives from America. We were delighted to find a picture on the wall of their grandmother as May Queen, who had lived in Stonnall. The manager, Amrick, was incredibly helpful and found the picture for us, even giving it to my niece to keep. She was thrilled! We enjoyed a drink in the beautiful beer garden, which had plenty of tables that were not visible from the road - a pleasant surprise. Although we did not have a meal due to our tight schedule, we noticed how spotlessly clean the kitchens looked from our vantage point at the bar. We will definitely return to try the food next time. All of the staff were very friendly, especially Amrick. Thank you for providing my Texan relatives with happy memories of Stonnall."

"I don’t do bad reviews but I am so mad….I had to repeat my order (for 4 4 times as the young girl serving was more interested in having a laugh with the other young girl serving! Half way through serving my order she decided to tell me there’s a 5 minute wait for the doner meat, so as you can imagine the rest of the food was cold by the time we came to eat it! As there was a queue for the donar meat the portion was skimpy, and salad, what salad? 6 chicken nuggets for £3, the portion was absolutely tiny! The girl put the chilli sauce on the chips before loading the kebab, so the chips was soggy!! The fish bites (without vinegar was sodden and had to peel off the wrapping, to which was fed to the dog in the end (75p each! ! The majority of this dinner ended up in the bin! What a waste of money!!!! Never again!"

"We ordered the three-course menu, and everything was delicious. I personally had the chicken wings, and the sauce was absolutely finger-licking good. Then, I tried the beer-battered fish with chips and the most amazing mushy peas I’ve ever tasted. I finished with the chocolate mousse, which was divine. My partner had the prawns, fish, and white chocolate crème brûlée, and he described it as "bang on." Overall, we rated the service a perfect 5 stars, the food a perfect 5 stars, and the venue a perfect 5 stars. We can't wait to enjoy another Groundless lunch again soon!"

"Well the food was ok it was like faulty towers thou, It was nearly empty when I got there all the tables were laid and I was told to wait for a table to be laid 25 minutes later I was just about to go then told they forgot me and the table was ready,asked if I wanted poppadoms I said yes pleases , then the same guy asked me the same question again 10 mins later, I ordered a lamb balti , that arrived in about 25 mins , but they forgot to put the lamb in it, I had 3 tiny bits of lamb I pointed this out they blamed the chef took it back and fair dues a new one was sent out,meat included this time ,I asked for the bill paid the bill ,and then was told they were bringing me the bill,its a shame as it was so unorganised, service was a train wreck thou,not bad food but really bad service , need a decent manager im guessing Price per person: £10–20 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"Good location in the heart of Lichfield with outside seating and views of the cathedral. All staff offered first class service which was always polite, pleasant and efficient. I particularly would like to thank the young man who in advance chilled us a bottle of red which is so difficult to get in this country. The food was a delight for all three courses. We shall definitely add this to our list of favourites and have no hesitation in recommending a visit."

"The Tame Otter is a very pleasant licensed premises with a cosy atmosphere, but we did not find the food very tasty or of good value. The staff however were very pleasant. We were also kept waiting quite a long time between courses, especially the wait for Baileys coffees after the meal they were cold when arriving at the table. "visited yesterday (25th) and was welcomed by the manager ian who explained the covid protocols and set us. our waitress was thrown away from her feet as they can imagine (250 covers) greeted us with a smile and friendliness. we got our drinks and salate; and in time our main courses arrived. tash was just too happy to change things on our order and make our meal perfect. Fortunately, there was a table next to us that complained and laughed at the personal (inappropriate.) it irritated me that they did not know that the restaurant was full to the braut, but ian placed it excellent. the staff was torn by the feet, but nothing was too much annoyed and they went beyond and beyond to make sure that we had a beautiful meal in the Christmas season. we will definitely book again for next year. thanks to all at harvester bassetts pole."

"The homemade lasagna was absolutely delicious! It featured high-quality meat filling with no gristly bits, and the gooey cheese on top was delightful. I also appreciated the lovely side salad, especially since they substituted rocket for the standard lettuce. I met a colleague for a business lunch and, not being local, I didn’t realize this place is near the HS2 construction site. I’m glad we made a reservation because the restaurant was packed, filled with a mix of locals and contractors. We barely found a parking space, so I highly recommend booking in advance. The service was friendly, though it was a bit slow due to the busy atmosphere. The interior had nice sparkly lights and the music was pretty enjoyable too! Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a 5 out of 5."

"I am writing this review because there is no ability to review trip advisor. Trip advisor offers no facility to respond negatively to totally unreasonable reviews. I have been a frequent user of Pizza by Goli have over many decades and they have provided exceptional food with only occassional lapses in quality. Several recent reviews are from people who are assigning totally unreasonable ratings for relatively minor issues. They are entitled to their view but trip advisor should allow comment or at least downvotes for poor reviews. Finally TA should encourage criticism of their own facility as well as other providers. I can find no easy way to give feedback to trip advisor."

"I went to the restaurant with my mother and sister this evening at 6:30 on December 6th, 2023. When we arrived, our booked table was ready for us. Nobody asked if we were the booked party, as the table was reserved for 4 people but only 3 of us were there. After about 5 minutes of searching for the Christmas menu in the table menus (which was what we had booked for), my mother went to the bar to order drinks and ask for a Christmas menu. The lady behind the bar was not aware that the Christmas menu was available, despite it being advertised since November 15th. Eventually, we received one menu to share between the three of us. For starters, we ordered 2 breaded mushrooms and 1 order of chicken wings. The starters took about 20 minutes to arrive. The chicken wings were delicious, but the mushrooms were overcooked and too crispy. For mains, we ordered 2 sirloin steaks cooked medium rare and a Turkey pie. The mains took almost 40 minutes to arrive, and both steaks were overcooked. After asking for steak knives, my sister's steak was acceptable, but mine was overcooked, so I sent it back. The staff apologized and brought me a new steak cooked medium rare. I ordered another round of drinks, and the service at the bar was pleasant despite some issues with the till. Our desserts took another 15 minutes to arrive, and they were tasty. Overall, the pub has a nice atmosphere but the food quality and service need improvement. I believe the staff would benefit from better training. I don't think we will be returning anytime soon."

"We visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening, right after they had refurbished the playground. At first glance, I wasn't particularly impressed by the menu, but since it was getting late for the kids to eat, we decided to go for it. Fortunately, we were delighted with our choices! The food was fantastic—our orders included steak, lasagna, and two children's meals with nuggets and sausages. The steak was cooked perfectly to our liking, and my lasagna was incredible—homemade and the best I've ever had in a pub, with generous portions all around. There were no pre-packaged meals in sight either. All the staff were really friendly, the meals arrived quickly, and the service was excellent. It was definitely good value for money. The only downside was that there wasn't easy access to the playground directly from the pub. Overall, we look forward to returning!"

"We had previously past Fradley Junction on a boat but had no option to stop there last year. We thought we would drive the 30 odd miles just to visit in out of peak season. I will not waste your time on a long review so in summary. Bar Staff: Just one person on duty. Helpful. Pleasant. Polite. Could not fault him. Impressions: Lounge area; rather small, very stuffy and clearly an aged place. Little natural light. Facilities: Gents toilet 10/10. Ladies toilet is not so good. 7/10 Food: Oh my word!!! Of our two meals, one had to be sent back as inedible. Chunky chips appeared to have been reheated a few times.... at least once. They were just OK but certainly not fresh. Ham and egg was OK but could be better by using a better quality dry cured ham. The lasagne was truly awful and that is being kind. Reheated, dry, rubbery and tasteless. This ruined our visit. Disappointed indeed. Summary: On reflection this may be a nice place to sit out on a warm evening watching the boats go by. I would never recommend the food though. It was clearly produced quickly and in large volumes to cater for the hoards of visitors in Summer."

"I was taken aback by her unbelievable tone and attitude. My friend had traveled from Canada and was on her way to Heathrow for a flight home, and I didn’t want to create a scene. Ideally, I would have told that rude staff member exactly what I thought of her behavior. There's a fine line between being efficient and crossing over into rudeness, and she definitely crossed it. While I know that restaurants often defend themselves with claims that other guests love them, I can honestly say that in this instance, I did not enjoy my experience. The other staff members were great, and the venue and food were decent, but I won’t be making the hour-long drive again just to be verbally confronted by a staff member. We left our table at 2:17 PM, having effectively been given back 43 minutes for free."

"What a truly awful experience we had. We arrived at 7.30 for our reservation. After waiting an hour for our starters, we asked how long the food would be we had no response! We asked a different waiter the same question 20 minutes later again no response! We then asked the waitress, who I believe was part of the management yet again no response! 20 minutes later I asked the same waitress the same question again. She answered that she didn 't know what was going on!! Furthermore, she was laughing off the fact that we had now waited 1 hour and 40 minutes without even a starter. A couple on the next table had finished their starter and main even though they arrived after us. We left after an hour and fifty minutes, with the waitress asking are you leaving ? Yes, she actually didn 't expect us to. We had no explanation as to the issue with our order. So I will explain the issue to the management here: You have no organisation skills. You have no awareness of customer service. You insult customers by laughing at their complaint and questions. Your staff are incompetent. You are incompetent. Your staff are quite happy to chat with friends at the bar rather than clear tables vacated over an hour earlier. I wonder why your restaurant was only 30% full on a Saturday evening?"

"Shown to table straight away,15/20mins later we had to grab waiter to ask what seasonal veg,then further 10mins before I had to grab someone again to take order...around 20 mins young girl came out to ask if one of our party was vegan or veggie,as she ordered vegan pie!! Then food came out, 2 roast dinners,3 pizzas,I vegan and fish n chips...4 meals all fine but roasts had peas n carrots, missing all veg and roasters I had to ask where veg was,they apologised and went back to get some, came out,but still missing parsnips and roast potatoes,so back again, vegan pie also missing veg...eventually all sorted,but roasters were large and hard on outside,parsnips hard,, no one came and asked how everything was..plates left for 20mins after we had finished,young lad never offered any dessert menu, another 20mins I had to go to till point and 2 lads 1 girl all by till chatting, ordered 1 dessert,only because it was included on kids menu...it obviously needs manager at wkend to shake these young staff up, 1 lad spent time chatting to family everytime he went outside,but ignored our empty plates on table...we spent around £150 ,would've been more if we had desserts but service really lacking,,spoilt our family birthday meal..."

"After a long and tiring day at Drayton Manor, 2 adults and 3 kids, we needed somewhere to eat close to our Premier Inn and after a quick Google we decided to try The Crown and booked a table online. On arrival we were warmly greeted and taken to our booked table, I’d asked for 4 instead of 5 but this wasn’t a problem and we were relocated with no fuss. The 3 kids had fish and chips with several variations and the adults had the venison special, all plates were clean, absolutely delicious. From start to finish we were served by a delightful lady who was warm, friendly and efficient, a real credit to the establishment. Ambiance was also lovely, dog friendly and a nice buzz to the place. A really great find, we will definitely return if in the area again."

"We’ve been to the red lion many times and always really enjoyed it. This visit was on Boxing Day and whilst the food was still really good we were just let down really by a bit of a chaotic experience. The food had been pre-ordered but when we arrived, I was told that the fish for the main course had changed and had I not got the email? (no I haven’t). As it was the alternative fish was really nice, but this was a bit of an indicator of how things were going to go. My starter arrived and it was with pink peppercorns, but it was absolutely drowning in them. Once you picked all those off it was very tasty. The main course for my husband was beef which he said was very good. However, I’d noticed that on his plate the only vegetable was some cabbage and other people appear to be having carrots too. Asking the waitress she then advised that they should’ve been on the plate so went to fetch them and by the time they arrived he’d practically finished his food. Dessert I’d ordered Baked Alaska and was basically just a puddle on a plate and it went back twice. The waitress asked if I’d like to swap for something else so I opted for the chocolate cherry trifle which was really good. So the food was good overall, but it just seemed disorganised despite the pre-ordering. However, I have to say that the staff were always very helpful and accommodating and did actually reduce our bill because of the issues. I think the problem was that they just had too many large parties. Behind us, there was a table of 30 people and there were a couple of other tables of 10.whilst I will quite happily go back to the red lion again, I don’t think I’ll be doing it again for Christmas or New Year, unless they say that they will limit the table sizes."

"Popped in for a quick drink and lunch with a friend. A good welcome by a member of staff, but we were promptly informed of the various items on the menu that they didn’t have. The reason being the “Easter break”. Bearing in mind one item was tuna an item my friend would have chosen for the baked potato filling), and possibly echoing previous comments, how difficult is it to go to a local supermarket and buy a couple of tins ? We both settled on baked potato with cheese and beans we were told that they had no beans, but found some) and tea for two. The tea was luke warm unfortunately, and the extra hot water, wasn’t . The potatoes to be fair weren’t bad, but served on very small plates so difficult to eat. Neither of us would return, the cafe looks tired and in need of a good clean. A shame, because with a bit of effort, this could be lovely."
