"Interesting evening! I had an 8:30 reservation but service quite slow due to a busy fully booked restaurant with 2 lovely and friendly waitresses and a nice owner at first, who was the ONLY one seating and taking all orders for the entire restaurant inside and outside). After waiting quite some time to place our order—I mistakenly took a recommendation for my son’s order from the owner after his initial choice of pork dish was already finished for the evening. After the long wait to order food, it totally slipped my mind to even asked her what was in the recommended chicken dish—which had peanuts my son is allergic to). I will say they ask online to mentioned allergies etc. but felt she also should have asked us about allergies before giving her unwarranted recommendation. Now, what was disappointing is though I took full accountability for not asking—the owner just smiled and accepted I pay entirely for this dish on top of still ordering another meal for my son. No real apology from her nor did she take any accountability not professional and no etiquette). Now, on to the meals—his dumpling soup was average and did not match soup perhaps wrong choice). My shrimp dish barely had any shrimps and I believe they rationed off maybe 4 small shrimps I’m probably being generous on how many shrimps was actually in this dish). It was a few chopped pieces breaded and fried in sweet and sour sauce then mixed in a bowl of mostly spicy peppers, onions expensive for that it was). This dish was overpowered by peppers, onions, celery etc. It really was missing the main opening act—“The SHRIMP”! "

"France is not an easy place. I say this first hand because I have the fortune of living here, in the French Capital no less. But France is no easy place, especially for foreigns living in the country, especially for Latin-Americans. And Don Taco is...making it, slow but properly and cooking real Mexican food in the heart of France, for that, they deserve a really good review. First and foremost, I have to say that since we moved to Paris, we have had the fortune of tasting some of the best food possible. We have had Venezuelan, French, Lebanese, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Italian, etc., food from everywhere in the world, and of course, we have tried some Mexicans as well, but only this one has awaken as many feelings; all good feelings. As we got into the place, we started to be transported, first the music and then the vibe. The owner welcomes you smiling and in our case, saying "Hola! Bienvenidos how could we not feel like home? We sat and as soon as we got the menu, we decided we were ready to order. We each had a dish and we also shared one. I had a pambazo, which is a piece of bread covered in a (not hot) spices dressing and filled up with mashes potatoes and chorizo, after cooked, the ambazo is also garnished with lettuce, chopped onion, cheese crumbles and fresh cream, one can also add sauce if feeling like having it a bit spicier. Then we had enfrijoladas, which are bean sauce enchiladas, filled up with shredded chicken breast and topped with onion, cheese crumbles and fresh cream as well. Finally we shared an order of tacos, chicken tacos because I don´t love to eat beef that often; they were absolutely wonderful, in the entire extension of the concept, chicken marinated and grilled to perfection; some lemon juice and a bit of salsa made the trick, just as good as you could imagine... I write this and my mouth waters in excess, I wanna go to Don Taco again so bad!!!! One of the best Mexican restaurants in Europe for sure. Paris has not such good taqueria, Don Taco is a privilege Lyon enjoy on the regular basis, we visitors have to pilgrimage to there as often as possible to enjoy the best French Food in France, but also the best Mexican the country has. Go to Don taco and treat yourself with a few tacos and a pambazo; if you´re vegetarian, enfrijoladas filled up with cheese are the option. Say hello to the owner from me, tell him I can´t wait to go back and enjoy his eatable pieces of art"
