"It says it all on the canopy outside the restaurant “La Cuisine aux Fromages”, so if you're not a cheese lover, move along now.We had been recommended La Puce a L'oreille where we were staying, and both being cheese lovers jumped at the chance. Located on Rue Stanislas, off the main square, it’s in a vibrant setting, and as it was summer, dined outside. The menu isn’t exclusively cheese, but it does predominate. There really was too much choice, but Mrs D plumped for the Classique Raclette - with just a bowl of melted cheese, rather than the machines you find in Alpine resorts. I went for the Grande Salad Lyonnaise.Other reviewers have remarked on portion size, but as long as you are sensible in your choices you won't get too much. Having said that, Mrs D’s Raclette came with a whole baked potato filled with fromage blanc, a big serving of charcuterie and a good salad. My salad wasn’t exactly small either, with salad, tomatoes, comté cheese, sautéed potatoes, croutons, though curiously, the garlic sausage - which makes the Lyonnaise - was missing. I wasn’t complaining, there was more then enough, and it was delicious. Rhubarb and lemon sorbets for pudding, which really cleansed the palette. In all, a wonderful meal in an memorable setting. €27 for the food, and another €15 for a pichet of house wine and some aperitifs. Absolutely recommended."
