"I had the pleasure of visiting La Terraza Tapas Bar in Upton with my kids, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. "that was a bad experience from beginning to end. first there was no beer, and then none of the weeps were available on the wine list except house wine. the appetizers were in order, but we had a big problem with the main meals. two of us were without the kartoffels that were expected when the vigil of my wife ran blood and another bowl was mainly fat. Although we were not charged for both, it certainly spoiled an expensive evening. no experience I would recommend."

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."

"amazing! love back to this place, eating is wonderful I can not recommend it enough. the salt and chili sum is so light and crispy the banh xeo pancake is delicious, but the real winner for me was the spicy bark soup. go for the rare rindspeicy nudelsuppe called bun bo hue. and also the cocksuckers should die. I have inherited and ordered mango. I wish I had ordered two that they were this mumie. in northants there is nowhere else. Thank you and we will see you soon!"

"I begrudge having to write this review, however I am appalled by the service (or lack of) from the red lion. I’ve tried to contact them several times and have been ignored, which is especially frustrating since the manger replied to a review a few days ago. We made a booking of 20+ for my partner’s birthday in June. Although the food was lovely, the service was not. Firstly, we were left waiting a while for the food even though it was preordered. Secondly, each person had to go to the bar to order drinks as staff did not take orders from the table even though it was on one tab. They were clearly understaffed on the night, considering the size of our party. Thirdly, there was an issue with the preorder of desserts and some people did not receive a dessert and were not informed until the rest of the group had theirs. The lady dealing with this was also quite rude and did not offer a resolution. Finally, there was a dispute about the bill and I’ve emailed the manager several times as some items cannot be attributed to anyone in the party but have not received a response. Emails were sent on 28/06, 03/07 and 15/07. It really is a shame as we’ve been here before and enjoyed the food, but it is safe to say that none of the party will be returning and the customer service received is unsatisfactory. Again, I would have been happy to resolve this but feel forced to write a review due to the lack of response."

"Visited here loads of times and it’s always lovely food and drinks. Every dish is consistently good with a varied menu and often have a mix of specials on too. We aren’t local to the restaurant any more so unfortunately aren’t as regular visiting as we used to be, but it’s worth the trip every time. Menu caters for various dietary requirements very well. I can also recommend it for large parties, I’ve booked a few times for 10+ people and they are brilliant!"

"the visit to the business was really surprised to find a quirky facility like this in the heart of northampton. free film tekken games in the cellar?! something that is more like a trendy escaping in shoreditch. very friendly customer service, the best experience I had in a long time. the young man who served me was polite, attentively very helpful, without being too od. they recommend 2 3 tapas per person, but personally for me the portions are generous 2 (plus a sweet tapas if they have 're part of dessert room more than enough. I went with the Korean fried chicken that was beautiful. the only other place that makes Korean fried huh so good is shackfuyu in soho, london. (and these are wings, so much chaosier pork buns were delicious had a unique smoked taste, but the rolls needed to be a little lighter a bit more moist for a more authentic bio taste. but very hearty satisfying. fish tacos delicious, very generous with the coriander that some people like, but I loved it. the diligent who touched the fish was tastefully divine. churros for dessert again generous portion, could easily be between 2. that was my favorite dish. the churros needed to dilute, made less greasy with a sweeter dough, with a topped chocolate to dive with on the side, instead of on the top drizzled. the chocolate sauce was on the square. sweet decadent, therefore I have eaten 3/4 of the generously dimensioned deep roasted dough jewelry 't regret it a bit. I think the sweet tapas options must be extended, maybe something quirky like matcha (green tee soft serve ice cream or maybe a yuzu lemon tart ... but is northampton ready for it?! recommend it to me! Yes! absolutely."

"We visited Sophias to celebrate our friends 38th wedding anniversary on Thursday. The venue is clean and the decor reflects the ambience they are trying to create. We ordered from a very friendly and helpful waitress 3 of 'Sophias Mushrooms ' and one lamb Souvlaki. The food was presented well and tasted lovely however I would suggest that the quantity of mushrooms be increased by at least a couple as the mushrooms had all long gone while I was still enjoying the Souvlaki. Mains were Steak Diane, Fillet steak, Cod, and the Pork all cooked to perfection and in quantities that compensated for the smaller starters. Excellent! We all had a desert and the two chocolate mousse was divine, the Creme brulee went down well, the chocolate brownie? is unlikley to be a repeat for the recipient but the cheeseboard for two was outstanding! Service was good throughout. The only lost star is because we were the only diners in at the time which is a shame as it does reduce the ambience and atmosphere. On a plus side we could all hear each other! We will be back again and hope to see others enjoying the food as well."

"Loved this place just ticks all the boxes! Great decor, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, sensible prices, and OMG what a choice! One of our party is coeliac and this place was highly recommended I see why! The choice of GF was amazing the menu was pretty much the same as non GF. We had booked for Saturday, but after a busy Friday, we dropped in thinking if it wasn't good, we would go elsewhere on Saturday instead. Needless to say, we didn't cancel and ate here twice. Tapas was three for £12 and reasonable portions we tried the honey feta delicious, crispy crispy arancini, bbq chicken wings, patatas bravas, grain bowl great hummus , squid rings, and our fave bang bang cauli. The truffle chicken was mouth wateringly tasty. The burgers were good and lots of additional sides to choose from something for everyone. We particularly enjoyed the soft drinks options sherbet lemonade, a peachy one, a watermelon one sooo much nicer than coke or sprite, great for designated drivers. Personally I was a little disappointed at the dessert choices white choc not a thing! cheesecake, brownie, ice cream sundae and churros although the brownie and the churros were good! I just like a fruity or light option. And to be really nit picky, the mac n cheese was literally mac n cheese no creamy sauce. Certainly wouldn't stop us from coming again on our next trip to N'ton. Now please open a branch in Norwich!"

"Although they were late getting there to open on time today(Sunday 1st October) the host was really lovely and apologetic. On entering felt a lovely feelibg of calm energy and good vibes. The menu was so varied and that's very refreshing to see being Vegan. The lovely Host/Server was very thorough and informative about allergies and out sourced items they have, she was very honest and super friendly. We ordered the Ramen and Curry the Tight Tacos my partner ordered spring rolls which were to die for. The Ramen could have had a little more flavour was a bit mild for me,, but a really good size portion was still very very tasty. The Berry Good and Jolly Good desserts were absolutely out of this world amazing gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Overall felt very welcomed, was very cosy, yet spacious and lovely feel good atmosphere.with a cool musical themed decor good music playing too. "We were given a lovely table in the window for our Afternoon Tea voucher booking overlooking the garden and park opposite. The waitress was very nice and was on hand throughout our visit to top up the bottomless Tea and check we were happy with the food. The first tier arrived comprising of small sandwiches, cheese scones and mini quiche. The bitesize sandwiches were a little disappointing and could do with being of a more standard size. The second tier arrived and was more impressive with two large plain scones, clotted cream (Cornish potted version) and a huge serving of strawberry jam. Accompanying the scones was a selection of lovely fresh cakes and tarts which made up for the sandwiches previously. Having not been here for a number of years it was a nice to visit again and was topped off with a cold glass of prosecco we hadn't realised was included with our voucher."

"We had a party of 8 for afternoon tea. Upon booking, I requested a specific seating area as we tend to be a loud group and did not want to disturb other diners. We were seated in a cozy spot behind the bar with plenty of light and space, which was very nice. The amount of food provided was generous and we were all pleasantly stuffed by the end of the meal. Despite this, we still had leftovers which we were able to take home. The selection of food was lovely and catered to everyone's tastes. Our server, Jenny, was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We would definitely consider returning for either another tea or for dinner as the quality of the food was exceptional."

"Enjoyed our lunch here. Delicious food and well presented. Food clearly cooked to order. Although extra sides are available, each plate comes with a good selection making a complete meal (unlike many higher end pubs these days charge you an extra £5 for each side dish). I had the salmon that was perfectly roasted served with a lovely summer quinoa salad. My dad had the gammon egg. he was initially uncertain about ordering it owing to experience elsewhere of it being tough, but he pronounced it perfectly cooked. Also served with chips crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Rounded off with a delicious lemon cheesecake. The staff are friendly and helpful and at no point do you feel rushed. It was about a half hour trip for us to get to the Saracens Head but well worth it."

"I came to #ashtag as a few friends had recommended it. Our waitress was very welcoming and friendly. The decor inside was really decorative, lighting was just right, the restaurant was small but accommodated everyone perfectly. The choice of food is plentiful and there is plenty of drinks choices. At first we thought the food was not going to be enough but whilst eating the food, we found it was very filling, I could not finish the desert. The pictures captured the presentation of the food and the food was so tasty, very filling and worth every penny. The menu seems expensive but when you are served quality and tasty food, you appreciate it. And it was cooked/prepped by Justin. I'm glad Justin came to this town and opened this restaurant, I will be back for more."
