"We have already had two fantastic meals on our return to Kenmore.Although the menu is reduced from previously, the quality of food is excellent and there is a reasonable selection to choose from. My wife and I have both had the venison and stroganoff which with the smoked salmon and crayfish adds up to a delicious meal.Heather and all the staff are very attentive to all their customers and could not do more to make the dining experience one to savour.We are staying in Kenmore for another 12 days and will certainly go back many more times. It is unusual to find a restaurant of such quality in a holiday resort, but long may it cotinue"

"We visited the Murraypark for dinner after a hunger-generating day of hillwalking in the local area. Being seated in the sunroom, it was slightly offputting to see the beer garden in a poor state of maintenance and the windows being dirty (complete with evidence of recent birdstrikes). Added to the sad state of the outside view, there was a rather inappropriate musical background being played far too loudly throughout the night. We often felt as if we were eating in a nightclub instead of a restaurant. The menu is basic, with a selection of steaks and a few other pub-grub type alternatives. Sadly, quite a few items on the menu were unavailable on the day we visited. The staff were friendly, well presented and attentive, but were unable to answer questions as to which drinks were available. This perhaps not their fault; as we did discover that the Murraypark has a vast selection of drinks in the bar area. Perhaps there should be a drinks menu provided at each table, alongside the wine list, so staff won 't have to try to memorise the entire bar menu. The food was a disappointment. The steak, pancetta and mushroom pie seemed to be lacking any mushrooms at all and the pancetta consisted of tiny little cubes that added no discernible pancetta flavour. The steak in the filling was great, perfectly flaking apart in texture and sitting in a rich and delicious gravy. The pie lid was a disaster. The puff pastry had not puffed at all and resembled a slab of concrete which had to be removed in a single slab and broken into pieces separately. One of our party had the mixed grill and was overall pleased with what they got (save for the liver, which was one of the unavailable items on that day). The rib-eye steak was described to me later as having been 40% gristle which is not great when you are selling yourself as a steak joint. The sauces served with the mixed grill and rib-eye had split and were watery. The Murraypark has three stars, and deserves every one of them."

"Having spent several days hiking and climbing in Glencoe we decided to drive along Loch Ness and then down from Inverness on our way back to England. It was early evening by the time we got to Perth so we looked for a suitable restaurant for dinner. Trip Advisor recommended Mae Ping so we decided to visit. Boy are we glad we did. The waiter was very helpful in explaining what our dietary requirements would allow and we selected a range of dishes for both starters and mains (having eaten camp food for three nights, we were hungry). The food took longer to arrive than I would normally expect (about half an hour) but once it came, we were in heaven. It was seriously good and then came the surprise. Often the starters are better than the mains, but it just kept getting better. We really enjoyed the food and if only we didn't live 350 miles away, would visit far more often. But for my next visit north of the border (spring 2024) I will find a way to justify passing through Perth in the evening."

"As a group of three couples with a yong child, we were all excited to visit Cafe Rhubarb, the reviews were good, as was the cafe’s location in Crieff. Unfortunately from the moment we walked through the door our experience was poor and only got worse. The staff were all quite rude and the atmosphere was unwelcoming. We very quickly felt like an inconvenience. The menu looked great, a bit on the pricey side, but we were happy to pay more based on the foot being of good value. Unfortunately, the food that was served did not reflect the quality, the price or the reviews. We ordered pancakes with banana for our wee one, it arrived with a long hair which later was made clear to have come from the chef who came out without a hairnet. The salmon bagel arrived in an undesirable brown colour, the £7 two slices of french toast were both burnt, and we had to remind the waiting staff of drinks that were not delivered. We also had to ask for cutlery, salt and sauces after the food had been delivered. We were happy to leave the salmon without a replacement meal. The chef made loud comments about the salmon, which could be heard from the kitchen. It was made unpleasantly clear that she (the chef) was unpleased that our party didn’t wish to eat a the salmon. The cafe itself has an evident condensation issues. As all the windows, mirrors and even the toilet walls/mirrors and floors were soaked in condensation. The humidity was quite uncomfortable and did not make for the nicest environment to enjoy a meal. My partner being a National customer experience trainer, tried speaking with the server about removing the salmon from the bill. We were met with a very rude and defensive chef and server, who were very loudly and rudely defensive. This created a very uncomfortable atmosphere for my group and undoubtedly for the the rest of the cafe. Some of the food served was lovely and quite enjoyable, so we really hope that the cafe consider their approach when dealing with customer service in the future. We hope they address issues with health and safety like the condensation and the lack of a hairnet from their chef."

"Arrived at restaurant and we were greeted by girl behind bar. Told her we had a booking to be told come with the shake of her head . Were sat in restaurant away from bar. The hotel and restaurant is lovely in itself. We get that it’s a fishing lodge and country hotel and dogs are welcome. Most dogs were well behaved but one in particular would not stop barking as other customers were arriving with their dogs. Not a nice quiet meal and not good press for said country hotel. At least 6 times during our hour and half visit this dog barked My hubby had a lovely starter of black pudding scotch egg . Then steak pie for main I had sirloin steak which was good. Chips bought in were absolutely awful so much so I said to a lovely wee waitress and she got them replaced . Menu not brilliant. Won’t be rushing back. Meikleour used to be the place to go what a shame that standards have slipped."

"The staff were all very lovely *BUT* We went for the Sunday roast since it was Sunday and unfortunately were very disappointed. It was £16 a plate, we got 1 roast potatoe in half, half a carrot in quarters, a small portion of cabbage (not quite dessert spoon sized) and a small/medium chicken breast with not enough gravy. There was also something called scurly but we didn't care for it. As I say the staff were wonderful and perhaps the other food would have been worth our time. But their Sunday lunch needs a lot of work, especially for £16."

"I traveled from Brighton to Scotland to do the NC500 and stopped in Crieff for the night. I dined at this restaurant, which was extremely expensive and the food was terrible. I don't understand how some reviewers have given it five stars. The food was truly awful. For example, I ordered a chicken Pathia, a dish I have had many times before. The sauce was made with tomato paste and ketchup, lacking any spices or authentic flavors. The chicken seemed to be pre-cooked and tasted old. It was disgusting. I could go on, but you get the idea. Stay away from this place and eat somewhere else."

"Went for a day out in Crieff and stumbled across this place and weren't we glad we did. KB's Italian is amazing. The decor, food and service were top class. It's a family run business serving authentic cooked food and I love Italian. We had starters and mains and the pricing was extremely reasonable considering the quality, I would have been happy to have paid more. If visiting Crieff, then build a visit to KB's into your plans and you'll be delighted you did. Need one of these in Edinburgh. We'll be back."

"We were extremely disappointed with our recent dining experience at this restaurant. Despite having enjoyed meals here in the past, this time was a letdown. The staff seemed to be trying their best, but something was missing. We were repeatedly told that a large order had just been placed, causing delays in getting our own order in. When we finally did order, there was only one special available as a starter. The pasta dish we ordered was not appetizing at all, with hard and chewy pasta that was lukewarm. My seafood platter consisted of smoked salmon, a mousse, prawn Marie rose, and what seemed to be cod bites, which did not meet expectations for a true seafood platter. The restaurant was only half full, yet we were seated in a random manner, missing out on the opportunity to enjoy the lovely conservatory. This visit did not live up to the high standards we had come to expect, and unfortunately, we cannot recommend dining here. This sentiment aligns with other recent reviews we have seen."

There was only one ladies' and one gents' toilet available, as well as a large carpark. The menu was extensive but on the pricier side. Despite this, the restaurant was still packed with customers. The shop was lovely with plenty of items to browse."

"We were staying for nearby for a few days, and fancied a meal out. This was the most convenient place for us, so we booked what we assumed would be just a normal pub meal. How wrong we were! It was so much more: the service and the food were exceptional, the dishes offering tasty and imaginative combinations of predominantly local and very fresh produce. We were really impressed that portions of the mains were available in two sizes, too: not everyone has the same sized appetites. It was our penultimate night in the area, but even before we’d finished our main courses we’d decided unanimously to try and book again for the following night, if we could. Luckily, we were able to get a place! Although it’s in a very rural setting, the tavern is only a short detour from the northbound M90 motorway between the outskirts of Edinburgh to Perth: southbound you’d need to do a loop back between the Kinross exit and the northbound exit for the A91 to reach it, though in these days of satnavs and smartphone apps, it’s easy. At the time of writing, it’s closed on Wednesdays, but open for lunches and evening meals on the other days. Weekends in particular can be busy, so it’s worth booking ahead. Highly recommended if you’re in the area, or even just passing through!"

"being fair, eating was nice and so is keeping. my question is with the manager owner (I assume that this is his roll, since he was dressed in comparison to the waiting personal wise, the whole evening was put by him on a small note that his admiration for vladimir putin and the support for the war in the ukraine said. with his glorification of donald trump. each has claim to his own views, (I certainly do not share them), but I do not think it is really appropriate to share them in the length with customers. bad hospitality. by the way, he didn't wear masks."

Our server, Julie, was welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive, making our dining experience a delight. This meal was a perfect pitstop on our journey from Aviemore to Dumfries. "On my first visit to this restaurant, I ordered a dish that was not on the menu but they were able to make it for me. I returned two more times and had no issues with ordering the same dish. However, on a subsequent visit, I received items I did not order along with my dish. When I pointed this out, the staff were unhelpful and borderline aggressive. Eventually, they brought me the correct dish but without any apology. I was hesitant to return but my partner convinced me to give it another try. During my next visit, I explained my previous experience to the server and was very clear about my order. Despite this, our food arrived with items we did not want and missing some we had ordered. The staff once again seemed unwilling to fix the mistake. I have decided not to return to The Crieff Food Company."

"We stopped for an early lunch on our way to vacation and were fortunate to arrive early as the restaurant quickly filled up. I ordered a smoked salmon platter that was incredibly tasty, with a generous serving of salmon and cream cheese on beautiful bread (although I wish they had served butter with it). "This is a gem of a place! Great food, spotlessly clean and lovely, friendly staff/ owner ? . We called in yesterday for a late breakfast/early lunch. Had the most amazing toastie and the hot chocolate was to die for! A simple lunch but done to perfection so many cafes manage to get it wrong but this cafe delivers in every way. We had wanted to go back again for breakfast today but unfortunately our plans changed at the last minute. That said, we’ll definitely be going back again when we’re next in the area. "I had a wonderful experience at Fonab, a beautiful, elegant, and welcoming hotel with stunning views of greenery. The service, especially from the Scottish concierges, was exceptional and the bed and room were extremely comfortable. The restaurant (brasserie) was also very good, although I found the bar prices to be a bit high. The spa treatment (facial by Megan) was excellent, but I was a bit disappointed with the rest of the spa, as it felt too plain and simple for such a luxurious place. The staff were all very accommodating, even to our young baby. My only criticism of the room is that it was too warm and dark, as there was no air conditioning and it was unexpectedly sunny during my visit. Despite this, I would gladly return to this beautiful hotel with its excellent service."
