"I used to enjoy this restaurant as a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city and considered myself a regular customer, but unfortunately that is no longer the case. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a woman who was extremely rude and condescending simply because I was a mother with a stroller. It seemed that she was at a managerial level. She was very aggressive in her tone and complained about previous incidents with mother and baby groups and their strollers taking up too much space. This all happened before she even checked our reservation. It turned out that my friend had mistakenly booked for the following day, but she made me feel like I had come on the wrong day and tried to manipulate the situation. When I politely mentioned that I felt her tone was rude, especially since I didn't make the booking, she became even more patronizing and dismissive. It was a shame because the restaurant was almost empty with plenty of space available. I met up with my mom friends outside and we decided to go somewhere else where we were greeted with kindness and given our own space. It's unfortunate that this encounter was so unnecessary, but I wanted to warn other mothers that this woman was not supportive of mothers, so think twice before making a reservation. A mother with a stroller is already dealing with a lot, and even if there is limited space, kindness should still be shown."

"Wow, wow, wow! Based just off Richmond high street, this boutique family run Italian deli takes you back to the heart of Sicily with its freshly made pasta's and chunky panini's. Run by a husband and wife, we got talking while looking at the options available and went down to see their kitchen (my family has been in the catering industry for decades) to a laboratory of Italian goodness. Deborah arrives at the shop before most have opened their eyes and creates half a dozen fresh pasta dishes covering different palates on a daily basis.... the definition of taking pride in your work. If some popular dishes are going fast, she even makes them again same day! Some of the dishes on offer the day we visited included: Spicy beef gnocchi (To DIE for) Spaghetti chilli garlic (options of king prawns or escalope's to accompany) Pastticho (Long tubed macaroni with a mix of cheeses and cream as a pasta bake with a bed of mince meat) Black Spaghetti Traditional Bolognese and Pomodoro There is also fresh options for you carnivores! Selections of Italian meats, sausages, salami's etc that can be combined with ciabatta's and mozzarella for a serious Panini.... they are very generous on portion sizes as well! Given it's location this spot is right for any occasion: Dates, quick meals, takeaways to sit in the park etc, it covers all the bases.... oh, and they're one of the few restaurants who don't ask you for your kidney as payment! I use this place as HQ if I am ever visiting Twickenham for an England game, as does ex world cup winner Mr Dallaglio (better than Twickenham hospitality apparently). Couldn't recommend this place highly enough, you will not be disappointed."

"This time last year I enjoyed lunch on the Golden Hind which is Great Western Railway 's flagship inter-city train service between London and Plymouth, and I didn 't think that the experience of tucking into a four-course meal with wine whilst the verdant countryside of Somerset and Devon whizzed past the picture window at 100mph could be improved upon in any way. Earlier this evening I was travelling by rail from Portsmouth to Swansea via Reading. In spite of the fact that GWR 's journey planner made no reference whatsoever to a Pullman Restaurant on the Red Dragon train from Paddington to Carmarthen, and the station announcements at Reading made no mention of one either, there were indeed catering facilities tucked away in the rearmost First Class carriage of this ten-coach Hitachi InterCity Express train. The Pullman Dining crew welcomed me on board with open arms, carrying my heavy holdall and stowing it away between the seat backs, before finding me a table for one and taking my dinner order. Which was pretty good considering that I was travelling on a Railcard-discounted Standard APEX ticket! I opted for the Ham Hock Terrine (GBP 6:00) as the Starter, Chicken Breast with Sage Stuffing (GBP 27:50) as the Main Course, Chocolate Torte with Black Cherries in Kirsch (GBP 6:00) as the Desert and a tasty GBP 6:00 Welsh Cheeseboard with Pear Chutney (plus a glass of Port for a very reasonable GBP 5:50) for Afters. Chilled mineral water and hot coffee were complimentary and unlimited. I cannot fault the attentive service offered by Vikki, my Waitress, whilst the Chicken Breast on a bed of Braised Artichoke was cooked to perfection by a Chef working under pressure in a cramped galley. It 's such a shame that nine of the eighteen seats in the Restaurant Car remained empty throughout the near three hour journey to Swansea/Abertawe. The half-bottle of Claret which went so well with three out of my four courses was a snip at GBP 15 whilst the only thing missing from a wine list which would not have disgraced the dining room of a top London Gentleman 's Club was either a fine Sauternes or an elegant Barsac to go with my Chocolate Torte. Pullman Dining (along with the Night Riviera Sleeper train) is one of the two jewels in Great Western Railway 's increasingly tarnished crown and it 's a shame that it 's not offered on other services, such as the Cathedrals Express from London to Worcester and Hereford via Oxford. Although I hesitate to give out what should be confidential information, for anyone travelling on a Standard (Class) ticket, it 's a ridiculously cheap way of getting a First Class upgrade at peak travel times on journeys between south Devon/South Wales and London!"
