"It had been a while since we last visited Hawkshead. Today, we decided to go there mainly to avoid the line at Sarah Nelson's in Grasmere. By chance, we discovered this charming little tea room. We originally planned to sit outside, but there were too many wasps, which I'm terrified of. Instead, we went inside and asked for a table for two. The girl at the counter was lovely and very helpful in finding a place for my husband's mobility scooter. We ordered a coke and a flat white. My husband, who loves coffee, said the flat white was fantastic. My coke came in an ice-cold glass straight from the freezer, reminding me of holidays in Greece. My husband had a sausage and bacon bap, while I opted for soup and a cheese scone. The bap was filled with lots of Cumberland sausage and bacon, and sauces were offered, with my husband choosing ketchup. The soup, a Parsnip, Carrot, and Cumin blend, was delicious, and the warm cheese scone was delightful. The staff were courteous, helpful, and friendly. We would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. Just a heads up - if you're tall, watch out for the original beams and remember to duck."
