"damaged. belittled. bewildered. temporary treatment by a new/untrained employee? my friend had ordered a brownie and was not satisfied with it. I tried something and agreed that the taste went off. what should be a top class (billion: £72, no wein) restaurant answer naturally Sir/Madam, we will remove it and remove it from the bill or. they want another attempt at us, and/or- unfortunately this has not happened. the waiter was not allowed to perform the above mentioned action automatically. the owner came and said they had tried the actual dessert of my friend (uh, covid?! and. not agree! I have an excellent palate and cannot agree with what you said that my friend has politely cared for her thoughts. I also mentioned that I had tried something and agreed with my friend. Answer: Now, they have picked their way through most of them no, actually: the ice masked most of the first half. the owner said all this, poor at, while he stood easily in my personal space. we paid on the way, the server was curt. she was informed. I'm sure she was polite when we got in. there was no offer of a reduction, although the half (or just below the half) the pudding was taken for sampling we wanted to return later in the week. during the meal we even discussed days. this wish has unfortunately disappeared. the many positive, the 5 stars that our names were personally mentioned on a custom menu for the day that we were allowed in a bit early I had a delicious starter, a small(r) version of a main course my friend lamm and my steak were delicious and tender I had a delicious dessert (although small) the server were both enthusiastic, we had a decades history of pleasant experiences here."

"We booked a table online and paid £5 per head to reserve the table for Sat eve. Unfortunately, due to a family member feeling unwell, we had to cancel, which we did, a full 36hrs before the reservation on the Friday morning, before leaving for Windermere, so that they could at least fill that table if needed. We rang the Queens Head to say sorry for cancelling the evening reservation but we 'd like to eat earlier and could we rebook for lunchtime instead The lady, should 've got her name, said 'of course, what time ' we said about 1pm and would the £20 already paid reserve the table? The lady replied 'No! ' that money is now gone as we 'd cancelled the later reservation!!! I beg your pardon, so we 're still coming, just earlier in the day and this £20 won 't be refunded against this earlier reservation we asked? No, you 've cancelled, you 've lost your £20 now. The lady then said, so, what time do you want to book for lunch? To that we replied, are you kidding? You 've literally taken £20 from us for nothing and now you want us to waste even more of our hard earned money with you? No thank you, we 'll take our money elsewhere in Windermere. We could understand if we were cancelling altogether but we weren 't, just eating earlier on the same day!!! What an absolutely disgraceful policy the Queens Head has when you pay a deposit online and then need to amend it to a more suitable time. Shame on you Queens Head. At least Dick Turpin had the audacity to wear a mask when he robbed people. Do not book online folks as they will keep your money even when you want to change your reservation. In fact, if that 's what they are like before you 've even set for in the place, heaven help you should you have an issue with the service or food on the day."
