"I can't speak highly enough of this place. The food, staff, atmosphere, layout and everything else about this place is just spot on. My 18 month old daughter absolutely LOVES coming here. The staff are all soooo, so friendly and always make us feel very welcome. Not only that, they always go above and beyond. The customer service really is impeccable. The food is always fresh, hot and full of flavour. The variety is brilliant and they cater for everyone. Plenty of veggie options, salads, currys, starters, breads, sauces, desserts, icecreams, etcs. Most definitely worth every penny. Their drinks are considerably priced too. I'd recommend this place to anyone. We'll definitely be long term, returning customers. Super excited to come here for our for Christmas meal away from home this year. Thankyou to all the staff at Tiffin's, you're all amazing!"

"Ordered 4 pizzas which looked very nice and freshly cooked to order, dough was lovely, taste was good but fresh tomatoes on them made the bases so soggy that you could only really eat the outside edges. Unfortunately threw more away than we ate. A good tomato sauce on the base would make the pizza so much better as would not be soggy. Staff were lovely and cannot comment on other food they prepare."

"I'm visiting my dad, but grew up here and worked behind the bar before I went to uni in the 90s, so I remember it as the Lower from the olden days (IYKYK). Turns out, both of us look a bit different to how we looked back then. It's had a GORGEOUS makeover, and the decor is just on point with a tasteful fusion of modern and classic European. The music was appropriate, if a touch loud when sat close to the speaker. But not offensively so. The service was excellent; friendly and attentive. Ok so drinks; they have some sort of French gin that was sweet and went perfectly with elderflower tonic, served with what I think were sloes and a sprig of rosemary. I was LIVING for it. Papa said the malbec was very decent too. I also had a chocolate martini, and it was divine too. The food. Yaaaas, queen, the food. So there's not a huge range of choice, like when you go somewhere and you have to go through a ten page menu, but I can recommend the chicken goose pate and the sirloin steak. Both were done perfectly and I could literally eat that every day for ever. All in all, a well deserved five stars. Not cheap (hence the title), but given there's ample parking and it's a restaurant rather than a pub that shouldn't be a problem. Will definitely recommend and visit again."

"I know I'm fighting over the lion, maybe a little too much, but I just have to get my latest experience. we came by Saturday. I was not particularly hungry – I actually thought about one of the £5 snacks. how to have loaded thin chips – but something “new” on the menu caught my eye. So I tried the blue cheese and asparagus pie. Oh, my God. that was undoubtedly one of the best veggie meal I've ever had! They know that feeling when they are fit to burst, but eating is so delicious, they just can't stop eating it? this slightly melted fabric had the perfect balance of ingredients, the cheese and asparagus complement each other as the nature intended. So I wasn't too worried about how the dauphinoise kartoffel, baby carrots and French boons tasted. but yes, they were also on the next level, and the dish really did not need the creamy wild mushroom sauce served separately. but it was so vulnerable, I just couldn't leave it there. there you are. only if they think that a restaurant can no longer surprise them, the lion comes back to trump. can I blue cheese and asparagus pie to breakfast, lunch and dinner, please? every day for the rest of my life."

"We attended a memorial service for our friend yesterday and were very impressed with the changes that have been made at the restaurant since we hadn't visited in many years. "I really love Kaspas. You have everything that you dream of related to sugar . I asked for a flat white, and I was unhappy as the size of the coffee was super big, and I used to have it smaller. The next time that I came, they gave me a coffee from the house as they remembered me. I have to say that the customer service is exceptional and I am not used to having it like here, Ezaf, thanks for your attention. You do a really good job !!!"

"My friend and I finally visited this restaurant in February after talking about it for years, and I am thrilled that we did! Even though I am not a vegetarian, I had never tried meat alternatives before. The chilli beef stir fry was absolutely delicious and the best stir fry I have ever had. The waitress recommended it as her favorite dish on the menu as well. The pub itself was cozy, clean, and had plenty of parking. We plan to return in the summer to enjoy the huge outdoor space. The service we received was outstanding. Our waitress was friendly, honest, funny, knowledgeable, and seemed to genuinely enjoy her job. I have had my fair share of bad experiences with pub owners in the past, so I believe this speaks volumes about how well this place is managed. Unfortunately, I did not catch our server's name, but she mentioned that she usually works behind the bar and bakes cakes as her day job. I just wanted to extend my gratitude to her! We will definitely return in the future."

"My husband booked the Open Hearth so we could go out as a family for my birthday. It had been a lovely sunny day so we did anticipate that the place would be busy. However, as we had booked the table they knew we were coming so we assumed that that would be sufficient with regards to the service etc. On arrival, we were greeted and shown to our table. The gentleman then proceeded to fire off a load of things on the menu that we couldn 't have as they had run out of ingredients. We put that to one side and ordered our food. We waited a little while for our food but as the bar area was so busy we just put it down to that. In the end, it was the kitchen staff who ended up bringing our food out. The food was ok, just basic 'pub grub '. My husband 's steak was supposed to be cooked medium but it ended up coming out well done. The staff were so busy, there was no one really to approach about this and he didn 't want everyone else 's food to go cold so he ate it. After finishing our food one of the girls from behind the bar cleared our plates away and asked if we wanted dessert. We said yes and waited for her to bring the menu. It never arrived. Eventually the same girl came back and asked again if we wanted desserts and again we said yes. We were given the menu and waited to order. Again, no sign of anyone so I went looking for someone to order our desserts. I noticed on the specials board that they were doing a dessert with strawberry ice cream so I asked if I could just have a dish of strawberry ice cream for my little boy. They checked with the kitchen and apparently we couldn 't have that, we could only have whippy ice cream! Desserts finally ordered and we waited. My husband and son had their desserts brought to them and we waited for my dessert. We waited and waited and waited..........After my husband and son had finished their dessert we were then informed by the gentleman behind the bar that they couldn 't bring my dessert as they were serving food to other tables! I was shocked. Surely, you should finish serving one table before proceeding to the next. By the time my dessert arrived we were just ready to go home. I explained that I didn 't want my dessert as it had arrived too late. The girl who brought it did apologise but it was too late. I sent it back and asked for the bill. There wasn 't ever an offer off taking any money off the dessert as it had arrived so late. They were obviously happy just to scrape it in the bin rather than try to make amends. We paid the bill and left. I have noticed on a previous review that someone has said the same thing about the service and the response from the Open Hearth was that they prioritise their booked tables over their walk ins. However, that certainly was not the case for us. We booked the table over a week before we turned up and we arrived in good time yet they prioritised other food over completing our order. Surely it is basic practise to complete one order before proceeding to the next. Unfortunately, the whole experience was not enjoyable and we all came away very disappointed. We will note be returning again nor will we be recommending it."

"My partner and I called at the Greenhouse Public House for a drink having been living away from the area for a number of years. I stood at the bar while my partner went to the toilet waiting to be served. A young lad was...serving a gentleman which was fair enough and the pub was virtually empty. I waited and waited and despite other staff (including the manager) being behind the bar talking nobody seemed to be interested in asking me if I had been served or want my business. My partner returned and asked if I had been served to which I replied no. Then to add insult to injury a local chap walked boldly straight up to the bar and got served before me. I couldn’t believe it and what a cheek! We left the Greenhouse without purchasing a drink and went to another drinking establishment up the road where we received better service. The barman could have said that he would be with me shortly and the manager could have asked have you been served or asked another member of staff to serve me. Where are the manners, respect and service gone in this place? It seems to me that they give priority to the locals. We won’t be returning to this place anytime soon."

"Booked late afternoon for a 645pm table. Requested a table away from the entry exit doors when booked and were pleasantly greeted and taken to our table away from the door as requested). Ellis or server was courteous and attentive. We placed our order of sirloin steak and big stack burger. The food arrived promptly and was delicious piping hot as well), can honestly say It didn't take me long to finish it off. We ordered coffees and desserts which again were delicious. Sticky toffee pudding was lovely, nice and moist with a lovely strong toffee taste. The 40% off main courses voucher knocked over £12 of the bill. Bonus. We weren't disappointed at all with our visit to The Ashbridge and can honestly say the place has gone from ridiculously poor a number of years ago) to a very nice and welcoming place to eat. My only gripe was the inability to add a gratuity to our bill for Ellis as I had failed to take any cash. The handheld card payment machines weren't working and the bar machines don't allow a gratuity to be added. To Ellis from us, we will make sure to to you can on our next visit which I don't thing will be far away. Paul and Claire."

"I honestly can't thank Tracey and Steve enough , the decorations were absolutely stunning ,everything I imagined and more , the food was amazing ! Best carvery I've ever had like a proper homemade Sunday roast , the meat was cooked to perfection , the roasties were sooo good and the stuffing wow never tasted stuffing like it was sooo tasty , everything was just delicious every guest cleaned there plate. And dessert omg wow best cheesecake ever! The staff were all really lovely friendly polite and helpful ,was plenty of staff on to serve all our guests. We all had the absolute time of our lives thanks to you two. The buffet was amazing loads of food too. They also provided us with a DJ who was a lovely man and a brilliant DJ. We also had the bridal suite which is beautifully decorated and immaculate . I honestly wish I could relive it all over again . Thank you both so much for making our wedding PERFECT in every way ,you both worked your guts out and we are so thankful see you soon for a carvery xx"

"Our first visit in over three years, we used to be regulars. Thursday 3/10/22 17: 15 the pub was busy but quiet, I found a nice table to sit at, then visited the bar. excellent selection of ales settled for two pints of Punk IPA then ordered two curries. The bill came to £18+ very good value. Our meals arrived in good time but that's when the problems started. the two poppadoms had the hot damp Naan bread on top of them so they were soggy, the rice had been dumped on the cold plate so it was also cold. My four chilli-rated beef Madras had no heat to it whatsoever and was pretty bland. My wife had the exact same problems with her meal. All in all, meals that could have been so easily improved by reasonable care and attention. A poor visit, It's going to be another three years I think before we try again."

"I have never ordered from Porky's before, and after this experience, I definitely won't be again. The onion rings were soggy and undercooked, the chips were hard from being oven-cooked, and the garlic bread needed another 5 minutes in the oven. The pizza was cold and tasteless. Overall, it was a waste of money and a terrible takeaway experience. I will not be ordering from here again."

"Ten of us booked The Star for the three course Christmas Meal at £17.95 per head .It was really good value for money and very efficient , friendly service. Good choice of starters soup, salmon pate or tomato tartlet all prettily plated with garnish. Nine of us had the turkey again beautifully presented with stuffing, pig in blanket, roast parsnips and roast potatoes alongside platters of veg sprouts, carrots, peas, red cabbage, boiled potatoes and additional gravy allhot and very tasty! Choice of desserts Christmas pudding, cheesecake or warm chocolate brownie with ice cream and those who couldn’t find room for their desserts took them home in foil trays great service! A big thank you to Lydia the chef we sadly didn’t get the chance to thank her personally she did a great job ! Diolch yn fawr iawn we will return !"

"Went to the cafe today with my grandfather after weeks of him saying how its the best coffee in cwmbran, I now too think its the best coffee in cwmbran! Lovely little cafe with a selection of cakes that are beautiful and delicious, the decor of the cafe makes it such a nice and calm place to go for a coffee and cake, very satisfied customer and will be with you again soon! This cafe really deserves more attention than it looks like it gets, staff are lovely too! With a exhibition in the same building as a café you really shouldnt say no : thoroughly enjoyed my time at Llantarnam Grange arts centre and cafe and I definitely recommend :"

"We love it here, it’s very rustic, old fashioned, with a log burner. Staff are polite, friendly and work very hard. It’s not a chain. It does not serve food all day long- and it shows because the food you get is fresh and homemade and very reasonably priced. They have a website which lets you know the serving times. It can get busy as it’s popular. Food is very good, love the chickpea curry, the roasts are plentiful and delicious, all come with Yorkshire pudding and plenty of veggies. The basket meals come with homemade chips. The only disappointment we’ve had is when we’ve popped in after a long walk on the canal and they’ve been fully booked. We’ve never had a bad meal here and we’ve been coming for years. We’ve found the locals very friendly and they’ve even offered to move for us and give up their tables. The toilets and interior are clean and tidy. Can’t fault it!"

The restaurant has received a 0 rating from the Food Standards Agency, indicating potential structural issues in the kitchen. Based on the poor front of house experience, it is likely that the kitchen is also not maintained properly. The lighting is dim, possibly to hide the lack of cleanliness. I will not be coming back to this filthy establishment."

"The restaurant had a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. We were greeted with a smile and the heating made it very comfortable. The place was busy with lots of other diners which added to the great atmosphere. The food was hot and tasty, although there was a bit of a wait due to how busy they were. The presentation was also well done. Each of us ordered something different and we were all happy with our meals. However, the dessert we ordered, an apple crumble, was very disappointing. It had very little crumble and was served with lukewarm apple sauce underneath. It was a letdown. Parking at the restaurant was challenging, but there is alternative parking available across the road in a residential area. Despite the dessert mishap, I would definitely come back to try a different dessert."

"I reside in Barry however decided to take a trip shopping with my family to Cwmbran shopping center. We decided around 2 o'clock we were all feeling thirsty and slightly peckish. We decided upon Cafe Venetian with its big Venice style windows surrounding the cafe perfect for people watching. Upon entry we were greeted by the manager who was very kind to us, asking how our day was and proceeding with general chit chat. This was a delightful surprise and a very refreshing experience when entering a cafe. To have the manager and members of staff making you feel wanted and that no task was to small or large for them. They were polite, interested in helping us and clearly happy. The staff were wonderful in particular Simran the manager. We ordered two cappuccinos and they were freshly made with a real Italian coffee machine and fresh coffee beans. Simran and the rest of the staff are clearly very skilled baristas as on our coffee we were treated to some excellent coffee art. This was in the form of a Swan and a Love Heart which just made our time in cafe Venetian that little more special. The Coffee taste fantastic. We only waited 5 minutes for our food to be bought over. The chicken burgers came looking very well presented with fresh salad in a hot fresh bun. They were delicious and very cheap in price too. As we left the cafe a member of staff opened the door for us and wished us well on our day. Overall a true little gem of a cafe full of wonderful staff and very reasonable prices. I will most certainly be returning and would recommend this cafe to anyone visiting the shopping center"

"I love this little caff. In a world of that's full of bland shops, boring restaurants and resentful service this place is real and alive and full of character. Great breakfasts, good cakes and always super friendly. I've never come in here and not had a chat with the team behind the counter, or with the others being served. Honestly, going for a walk along the canal and then a cup of tea, eggs on toast, maybe a scone simple pleasures really but can't beat it and sadly, you can't find this sort of place elsewhere anymore."
