"While visiting Vienna with a group of friends, we were looking for a good place to eat that was suitable for omnivores, vegetarian and vegan dietary requirements and Tofu & Chili came up up highly recommended. It was a freezing cold day and the restaurant was very full. The staff were gracious enough to bring a tray of green tea for us while we waited outside to keep us warm. We were seated quickly and offered a selection of menus. There were no English menus but the staff were more than able to explain what was what so we had no issues. There was a huge selection of noodle, rice and soup dishes, enough to satisfy the whole groups needs. Before the meals were brought out, we're we all given a bowl of miso soup which was delicious. Nice way to welcome us and build our appetite for the main menu. I decided on the beef ramen based on reading previous reviews and decided on the Thai green sauce. (Pictured). The food was delicious. Huge, thick udon noodles with well cooked beef and plenty of vegetables. Fantastic taste and a very generous portion for the price you pay. Some of the group ordered similar dishes and other ordered rice and curry dishes. Everyone was completely satisfied with every element if the service and food. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for good quality Asian food and great service for a good price. Will definitely return on my next visit to Vienna.

"You have to know where they are to get there, but the food is worth the effort. My wife and I lived within walking distance of Futo, but didn't know about it until a colleague described a business lunch she had there. We went for dinner, and Futo instantly became our "go to" place for excellent Chinese food, to the point that we went there weekly, and went there for celebration dinners with friends. We've since moved about 250 km away, but every time we visit Basel, we go to Futo. And we also buy a bunch of take-out to take home, freeze, and enjoy when we're missing such good food. This is not a fancy place, but it is clean, well-lit, and nicely decorated. Plus, the Law family is remarkably friendly, and always greet us warmly when we visit. He is the chef, and you can watch him in action through the large windows of the kitchen. His pork dishes are great -- the meat is very tender, with no gristle at all. I'm told that it takes him a lot of effort to ensure this, so pork dishes run out about mid-week. His black-bean sauce is homemade and EXCELLENT. But we have many favorite dishes -- from tofu in soja sauce to Singapore rice noodles to squid in a ginger sauce. He doesn't use MSG, and if you prefer your food to be less salty than the typical European likes, just ask and he'll cut back. For our special meals, we often pre-order his Peking Duck. The first time we had it at Futo was a revelation! I later had an opportunity to travel to Beijing for business, and decided that I had to try this dish in its home town. My colleagues and I looked for the best place for Peking Duck -- and yet, I found that Futo's was far superior!Mrs. Law is the face of Futo, and she makes sure that all their guests are comfortable and well-served. She is a warm and friendly person, making visits there so much better.Futo is generally packed for lunch on weekdays -- the local workers at Bayer, Roche and other companies near the train station are big patrons. So, get there early (11:30) if you're going then.At night, though, because there is virtually no foot traffic by the restaurant, there generally are tables available.Go Eat and Enjoy! We do."

"I first reviewed this restaurant 9 months ago, but after having visited more than a dozen times since then, I have to upgrade my rating from 4 to 5. My husband and I don't live in Bern, but rather 30 minutes away. We enjoy this place so much that we make it a point to come here a couple of times a month. It's our go-to place when we don't feel like cooking or want a night out (paired with a movie at Pathe Westside or a stroll through Bern). Thus, I would consider us "regulars" at this restaurant and the owners and staff definitely make us feel like it (knowing us by name already). We always make reservations on their website, even if it's an hour before. On a couple of occasions, it didn't work so we called and made the reservation via phone. During warm weather months, they have covered outdoor seating, so reservations are not absolutely necessary, but recommended (especially if you want to eat outside - and you should inform them when you make a reservation). However, we never sit outside because it's right off a busy road (car noise) and I also don't care for the smoking, but during summer the outdoor seating full while indoors is more intimate (but can get warm). During the cold months, due to less seating, I would highly suggest a reservation on Fridays and weekends. The food is fantastic and the service is great, too. The staff are from China and seem to be doing an "Ausbildung" (training/education) there. They are learning German and most speak decent English. The food always comes out fast and piping hot. Expect to be eating within 10 minutes (max 15) of ordering, even when they are busy. We have tried many things on their menu and we enjoyed everything - sweet and sour chicken, szechuan beef, beef in orange sauce, kung pao chicken, the eggplant in a brown sauce (forget the name, but at on their menu of top 10 ordered dishes), general tsao's chicken, etc. One of our favorites that's not on their top 10 ordered list is the Beijing beef. As for their authenticity, it's definitely in the right direction. There are ALWAYS Chinese customers there. On three occasions during the summer, we have been there when a bus of Chinese tourists were there. I think that also speaks for their level of authenticity. Give this place a try. You won't regret it! PS: For those not accustomed to family-style eating, which is the norm in China, try it. Sharing main courses is always better because it lets you try different things."
