Alvorada - Speisekarte

Came across this small restaurant on day trip to Mevagissey. Run by lovely, welcoming couple. Food is excellent, especially the seafood. Highly recommended

The restaurant received a rating of 3 for service, 3 for value, and 4 for food. It's possible that if we had visited without being influenced by reviews, we may have found it to be more unique and deserving of a higher recommendation.

This restaurant is a hidden gem with a cozy atmosphere. The seafood dishes are exceptional, prepared by a talented chef with a vibrant personality. this is our second visit to this fabulous restaurant we were just as amazed as we were first time round ! After eating at a couple of seafood places in mevigissey then eating here you’ll understand why it is fully booked up for the next 3 weeks , luckily they could fit us in for lunch . lovely hosts lovely setting

Walked in and managed to get a seat so glad we did! Spoke with the owners about one of us being gluten and dairy intolerant and they were amazing preparing our food to meet those needs. The food was delicious, we had seafood rice and also monkfish with scallops and shrimp. Food was great, atmosphere great, service great. Highly recommend. Still full up the next day.

The all white crab meat pot and Portuguese chorico and black pudding starters were very delicious. For our main dishes, we had a monkfish, prawn, and scallop kebab and a traditional rice dish with mussels, prawns, and white fish. The dishes were flavorful and made with high-quality ingredients, but they lacked the wow factor considering the price. The service was excellent. Speisekarte ansehen

Fabulous evening with delicious food and great company. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Alvorada, we had the crab, seafood skewer, chicken skewer and seafood rice for mains and cheesecake and crème caramel for dessert, all washed down with a couple of bottles of Vihno Verde. Sue Toni were perfect hosts. We loved hearing tales about the Algarve. We definitely recommend and will be back again, thank you both for a wonderful evening.

Absolutely excellent from start to finish. I don’t ever remember having had a better meal in my life. The ambience is great and the owners are lovely. They run the show. We had chorizo and black pudding to start which was shared. My wife had the seafood rice which is in traditional Portuguese style and she loved it. It was a big portion but she got through it. It had all sorts in it. I had the Portuguese traditional slow cooked lamb which was served with sliced baked potatoes, broccoli and carrots. All superb. I had home made lemon meringue pie for dessert and my wife had crème caramel which were perfect. We shared a carafe of white wine and a shot of excellent port at the end. Highly recomm...

What a unique place. It is like eating in the dining room of a house. Run by the owner and his wife. Warm and welcoming. Around 4 or 5 tables certainly book in advance. Antonio is host and chef. The décor is Portuguese through and through. Forget about silver service, this gem of a place is all about the food and the wine. We had monkfish, scallop and prawns presented on a hanging skewer very dramatic! Served with chips and salad. The fish was to die for succulent and tasty. Yes, the prawns were shell on. (it does seem messy, but worth it! The chips something else. I know chips are chips, but not these. Great will a little sea salt. A real tasty salad which was the best ever. Portuguese chee...
