"Here on a Friday evening divorced and the lunch/breakfast menu with 38 € had not been realized mistakenly, was not available and it was the next at 59 €. The food was high quality, varied and creative with beautiful presentation, but the portion sizes were extremely small...and overall we felt that the offer was overprcied about 15-20 €. Wine selection also overpriced. While the staff was friendly and the service was efficient, the decor was also dated with an early 2000s feeling that was sadly added to the easily pretentious ambience of the place. Among the offer of similar quality restaurants in the tour area, others do as well as for a good wadding of Bucks less."

"uneven: a delicious cooked mid-fat foie gras but a plate without effort to present. eggs in basic meurette eggs poached in a very light sauce) then a back of cod no first freshness despite a nice plate, an excellent gamba skewer, a cute pig fillet too dry with successful vegetables. Finally, pastry is definitely not the specialty of the chef. a clementine in a totally missed chocolate. a chocolate cake that even picard makes better and qqs figs poached excellent but not hard to do. in the end the absence of a real welcome despite a friendly service is not at the height of the rates. another effort to get the extra march but it was a second experience and I don’t think I’ll come back. It is a pity because there is a good will undoubtedly."

"Une expérience sympa mais largement en deçà du cadre du agréable du restaurant O&A à Tours, pour des prix similaires. Nous avons opté pour l’option entrée plat dessert, avec une flûte de pétillant, pour environ 50€/personne. L’œuf parfait en entrée était plutôt un œuf frit, avec une sauce malheureusement très salée. En plat, pour ma part, le bar était excellent, de même que la poitrine de porc pour mon chéri. Petit regret que la carte propose 2 choix de poissons et 3 choix de viande, mais aucune option végétarienne ! Quant au dessert, nous avons pris une crème catalane au café qui n’en était pas une, mais plutôt une crème très écoeurante que d’ailleurs nous n’avons pas finie. Côté décoration, le sol en béton ciré, les meubles carrés et la lumière blanche passent à côté d’une ambiance cosy. C’est dommage. Le service était rapide et les serveuses qui se sont occupé de nous étaient cordiales et gentilles, mais très juniors. Bref, on attend quelques efforts pour que l’expérience soit au niveau des prix et de l’ambition affichée. Vegetarian options: Pas d’options végétariennes à la carte. "very good table for a gourmet meal. the dishes served are always fresh and of good quality. menus, although limited, remain very varied and very interesting formulas. the staff is very pleasant and welcoming. small apartment on the service, it is often difficult to look to get bread, a coffee of water or something else. I highly recommend this address to make a good meal with friends, family or a small group (the room is not very large)."

"L'Auberge de Port Vallieres offers elegant yet casual fine dining and validated my guess that Fondettes was an affluent commuter suburb of Tours. (Rather than the historic Loire villages further down river.) We ate here on both Saturday evenings of our holiday, and both times every table was filled with prosperous locals looking like they were relaxing after busy weeks in big offices. The building may once have been a farm house or barn; these days it's two large, unpretentious rooms decorated with a pleasing array of modern art and sculpture. Between the atmosphere and the welcoming staff, it feels more like a dining club in someone's house than a restaurant.It also holds an Assiette Michelin, a new rating the guide introduced last year to denote "good food served simply". This description would seem to put that a level below the Bib Gourmand, which has been the certification just below star level ... but L'Auberge's flavours and presentation were far beyond simple. The food is resolutely classic: foie gras, delicate fish courses, rich meats, sauces as deep as a black hole, extensive cheese cart, artful pastries. We tried the chef's menu on the first visit and were shocked to be served full-sized portions rather than the usual small plates of many-course meals. At the end of five, plus amuse bouche and typically moreish French breads, we were uncomfortably full. On the next visit we dropped to three courses with complete satisfaction.The Auberge also, happily, disproved an impression we'd developed on past trips that the French didn't really do matching wine flights, defaulting to house standards rather than thinking carefully about matches. The flight here carefully selected glasses to complement each course. No of the quirky, delightful surprises English sommeliers often slip in ... all French though many from beyond the Loire ... but each beautifully matched with the dish.The main course on our first visit proved the point of matching: the veal and its sauce was so excessively rich, with a slight mineral undertone, that is absolutely needed the sharp bite of the pinot noir to complete it. It was only after we got home, and back to WiFi, that I could look up the translation of "ris de veau" and realised I'd just eaten sweetbreads. That's the beauty of a tasting menu in a foreign language. Would never have ordered it on my own. Probably wouldn't order it again. But on that night, with that wine, it was delicious."
