We are here 2 nights in a row, the food was amazing, even my son who is a fussy eater loved the food. Best sticky toffee pudding I’ve had in a while!

Excellent Family Celebration meal, pre order very good and staff first class. Good range of menu with many local specialities, and decent portions well presented a good experience Restaurant tastefully re furbished

First stay, hotel is going through some refurbishment but this is being done without any inconvenience to guests, breakfast spot on, it’s all ready well presented, self service. This is a lovely hotel right in the heart of Kirkwall. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the service is excellent, and the staff are very nice. We had a nice view of the harbor. It's conveniently located near the ferry terminal and bus station. The restaurant and bar both had excellent service and the food was out of this world.

Not the warmest of welcomes from the receptionist. Bedroom fair size but on the ground floor and dark. Bathroom large but institutional more like a hospital. Both rooms clean and well appointed, with plenty of hanging storage space. Evening dining reasonable choice and beautifully prepared and presented. Breakfast buffet style, great selection and plentiful.

We booked for our staff Christmas night out and it did not disappoint! We had an amazing night. The meal was delicious, hot and served perfectly, we didn’t feel rushed and not a single complaint was heard! We Enjoyed fantastic cocktails in the new lounge bar which is very stylish. We ate here twice during our recent trip to Kirkwall the food was amazing well cooked and flavoursome, I can honestly say the Fillet steak I had was the best I've ever had cooked to perfection, portion sizes are generous, highly recommend the coconut lime cheesecake for dessert, the young team we're all lovely all very chatty, friendly and efficient despite the restaurant being full, Highly recommend and suggest you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

We gave this place a go for dinner for the first and last time. Rudderless service where nobody seems to know who is in charge or what to do. Hard to distinguish who were staff as there was no uniform or name badges on. Food was bang average and overcooked fish and chips a big disappointment. Also had scallops which came on a bed of sweetcorn and nothing else??? Bizarre to say the least. Also waited 90 minutes from being seated for mains to arrive. Not acceptable but if you are allowing walk ins when you are already rammed that’s a pretty obvious outcome. Will not be returning.

This is the most reliable restaurant in Kirkwall these days. The food is always good. We both had starters the Butternut Squash Soup was creamy and tasty, hubby had the prawn cocktail which he enjoyed. We both had the Roast Turkey which I thought was a giant plate of turkey and all the trimmings. Hubby complained about the amount of turkey but in the end he was too stuffed to order dessert and he admitted he really liked it. We ordered soft drinks as we had appointments in the afternoon. The food came out quick enough, the only little hiccup was perhaps getting in a few minutes early before our reservation and no one being on hand to greet us or show us where to sit.
