we went to this restaurant with a friend who has long lived in lyon. I loved the atmosphere here, and the service was also very good. the prices were quite reasonable. highly recommended.

the restaurant is located near one of the long steps to croix rousse, and has several Pavement table with good views over lyon. the food and the service fulfilled the expectations: a short but inventive menu, a...good wine list and charming waitresses.

I had been meaning to try this place for a while, as I have been living very close to it for a few months now. The food is good, not amazingly good, but definitely tasty. Reasonably priced. The setting is quaint and the staff are...very friendly and competent. Speisekarte ansehen

we loved this place. very friendly service, perfect presentation of the meals, original menu, genuine alternative for vegetarian, beautiful deserts paired with a rich map of local weeping. all this in a beautiful quarter of lyon, where local dance, discuss and share their evening. a table.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with most reviewers. Food is nothing special here. My starter had too much dill in it, overpowering the whole dish. The main course of grilled octopus had too much salt. In Lyon, one is spoiled for choice, but Balthaz’art did...not live to our expectations.

Enjoyed our dinner at this quaint local restaurant in the Croix Rousse area of Lyon. Reservations are probably a good idea because the restaurant is pretty small. Menu is not in English but they do a good job of explaining things. My wife and I...each had fish dishes which were great. Our daughter’s steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We were a group of 11 ladies, we had a reservation initially for 10 and at the final moment we had an additional guest. The waiter was not very happy and hesitated to add an additional chair, once we agreed on that everybody in the...restaurant was finally polite. The food was very good and the wine (pot) was also good. It is less expensive to have their formule (starter, main course, dessert) than having only two dishes. The space is cosy. We expend a good moment there.

Fantastic restaurant, easy to locate in groovy Croix-Rousse area. Staff were brilliant, attentive and helpful. Service was prompt but not rushed. Upstairs area cosy and homely. Presentation of food and quality was superb, great wine list too. Dessert 10/10- can’t go past the special salted...chocolate cake and homemade salted caramel ice cream, a taste sensation I will never forget! It was so nice to go to a restaurant that takes such pride in their food and staff. A beautiful night as a family to celebrate our brilliant experience in Lyon. We will absolutely be back!

It is with some trepidation that I recommend this restaurant in the Croix Rousse area of Lyon. It is already rightly busy and I would hate to miss the opportunity to dine here again as bookings become difficult. We visited for lunch in September so...we’re keen to return for dinner on this trip. On this occasion we were seated in the cellar and all was excellent. A limited set price menu, but all dishes were very highly rated by our party. Wine list extensive, but the house ‘pot’ wine was well above average and reasonably priced. Service fantastic and cheerful. €170 for 3 courses for 4 people with wine and cocktails. Amazing when the quality this high. Speisekarte ansehen
