"We stumbled across this cafe after visiting fair head. There was a sign outside saying it 's just like being at your grannys and this couldn 't have been more wrong! From the minute we entered we were welcomed by the lady who owned the cafe, who was the most delightful, helpful and friendly host! They had an amazing gluten free menu with so many options; I was totally spoilt for choice. The food was the best we had on our Northern Ireland trip. So comforting and filling, and such good value for money! We are sad we live so far away from this cafe so we can 't visit more, but strongly recommend a visit to this place it 's totally worth it!"

I had the best tea ever, and the cutlery and cups were very nice. It wasn't packed but it should be!

Charming tearoom tucked away in the back of a building. All food is freshly cooked and the cakes are amazing! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with exceptionally friendly staff.

Drive the extra couple of miles out of Ballycastle to Ballyvoy....you won’t regret it! Its not about views, just good home cooked food in a lovely clean tearoom, served by friendly staff. Enjoy.

The lady who runs this cafe is brilliant. Excellent breakfast, good choice and well cooked. She came out to chat to us and was so lovely. It is a real joy to find places like Barnish were you get good food and pleasant company. Thank you.

Best fry on the NORTH coast of Ireland! Great range of food, fast efficient service friendly staff! Highly recommended and only 1 mile out of Ballycastle, passed the golf club, then opposite Ballyvoy Church within the filling station complex Excellent value and quality!

It really is like going to your granny's for lunch. Myself, husband and 4 year old Lily were made more than welcome. The food was homemade and 5*. We couldn't resist the desserts, they were amazing. We will definitely be back. Thank Christine and her daughter for the great grub.

We stopped by for a few quick drinks at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and the tea was delicious. The tray bakes and cakes looked tempting, as did the fry we saw being made, but we were too full from an earlier lunch to try any. It is definitely worth a visit, and you can also enjoy sitting at the picnic tables out front. The prices seemed reasonable for everything as well.

My husband found this place on TripAdvisor. We live locally and we usually have a snack in Ballycastle but he decided to try this wee place. It was fantastic. The lady that served us was wonderful and chatted away to us like she has known us forever. She talked to our 10 year old daughter Anna and made her feel special. It was really like going to visit family. The food was amazing too. Anna enjoyed tea in a china cup and teapot and the coffee my husband and I had was beautiful. Thank you so much. We will be back!!!

"We visited here to have the bar food. We we 're greeted by the waitress who quickly told us the restaurant was full. We explained that was Ok. We would eat in the bar. We were then handed A la Carte menus and spent the next five minutes completely confused because we had called earlier and were assured the bar food was being served. Only when we asked the waitress duds he acknowledge the bar food was available. She then brought us one menu between seven of us. The menu looked good. Six of us ordered off the bar menu. One from the a la carte. Dishes came with a side order of rice, potatoes or chips. The food came is reasonable time but we then found ourselves waiting for the rice to come out (it was noted as the serving suggestion with the chilli chicken and the curry dishes we ordered. When it didn 't come we asked the waitress who explained we hadn 't ordered it it was only a serving suggestion . Given that dishes come with a side order, surely she should have asked when we ordered what we would like with the dish? Bizarre. So we ordered the rice. A few minutes later one serving came out and we were told the kitchen had run out of rice! Unbelievable. We ordered chips as the consolation prize. This place needs a good food and beverage supervisor to knock it into some shape. The food was good but the service lets it down. The price was also reasonable but it feels like the restaurant is given priority over the bar food."
