"This is a long overdue review. We dined at Bayview back in Oct 2016 but only got around to review it now. Menu would have changed by now, but I suppose the service, food quality, and ambience would not have changed that much.We went for lunch on a weekday. Very practical since we are staying at the Hotel President Wilson. For lunch, Bayview has the 2-course meal or 3-course meal at very affordable price. We chose 2-course of main dish and dessert, since we wanted to choose our own appetizers. The restaurant decor and ambience is excellent. We got seated by the window with the view of the lake. Service is very friendly and professional, both from the waiters and sommelier who helped us with all the wine choice. We went through many wine selection for this lunch, from the local Villard & Fils savagnin blanc, to gamaret, les grain nobles, and auxey-duresses.With Michelin starred restaurants such as Bayview you would certainly expect a lot more than just the main courses. Amuse bouche was a puff pastry filled with truffle & Gruyere cheese on top. Before appetizer they served haddock with chestnut mousse. Both are nice prelude to the appetizers. Out of the 2 appetizers, warm lobster salad with tangerine & parsley root is something more interesting than the foie gras which is a bit difficult to finish. The pairing of lobster with tangerine itself is good, but after awhile it's a bit much as they also serve lobster & tangerine pie on the side.Main is duck leg confit with chicory salad. Nice, beautifully cooked. It is probably the desserts which fail to impress - whether the quince & sorbet, and the lemon pie which followed after that. Mignardises are as per expectations.Overall it is still a satisfying lunch in a beautiful setting and very professional service. There are some highs and lows on the food, though I would of course expect a bit more wow from a Michelin starred restaurant."
