"A few weeks back a group of us decided to have a West End dinner. After much indecision, and some appalling menus elsewhere, we ended up here. Now I pass by here quite regularly but I've never actually gone in. When we arrived, it was super busy and the only free table was booked. The waitress was great (and was super all night , moved a couple of things about, and voila we were seated. Starving doesn't come close to how I was feeling, so I opted for the chicken roast. Which was awesome several big chunks of the best cooked chicken I've had in yonks. Tender, moist and very flavoursome. Throw in mixed roast veg, a couple of Yorkshire puddings, and loads of smooth, almost smoky gravy, and I was a very happy diner The only thing that made the dinner better was desert. I totally persevered and worked my way through the most delightful sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and ice cream. Holy b'jeezo!! I could eat that every week (ok, day! , easily! The Big Slope itself, is a cosy, dimly lit basement bar that kinda puts me in mind of a sort of modern, stylised speakeasy type bar. It has a great, relaxing atmosphere, and I can't wait to go back"

Great place for pub food. Lots of TVs for a variety of sporting events. Service was good considering it is a pub.

Decent food for a reasonable price and a healthy selection of drinks. Also has a nice fireplace in case you get soaked on the way there

Recently found this wee gem in the West End. We live close by and went in over the weekend great staff, lovely food and reasonably priced priced. We'll definitely be back!

Its always good to come back for a visit to the Big Slope. It was quieter than I have seen in a long time so I hope they can continue to provide the great atmosphere, excellent food and handy meeting spot for friends

We enjoyed the amazing food. Service was excellent. Had a special Steak Sandwich and the wife, breaded Haddock. Was referred by the Park Bar because they didn't serve food. What a find. Either spot is a must in this area. Americans visiting Scotland.

Not a bad pub, but that's down to atmosphere. The food menu has perhaps one or two vegan options, but when our food order arrived we were not given knives or forks nor a napkin, so there are a few things that could be improved. But a decent pub none the less

What's not to like about big slope?? Well nothing really.. They have a nice outside drinking area and inside is all dark and cosy.. I like the decor as it has an old Scottish pub type feel but in a funky modern way.. I have been here a few times for drinks and food.. The space is nice and the booths are big (try not to sit in the back of the booth as its a nightmare to get in and out when you need the loo) The staff and service have always been good. It's kid and dog friendly. I've never had a bad meal in here, they do the best skinny fries and they're Sunday roasts are a must.. The portions are big and you get two yorkshire puddings with Sunday lunch (my fav part)

The Big Slope is a cool little bar that always seems to be busy. So my first recommendation is that if you'd like to eat here in the evenings (especially Thursday-Saturday) is that you book a table. Once you've got your table, get comfy. The staff are great and the atmosphere is relaxed. The bar selection isn't enormous but they've got a few tasty wines, some nice beers and a cocktail selection (I tried the cucumber cooler on my most recent visit and it was super refreshing). Oh and pro tip: A lot of the cans and bottles of beer have surprisingly low prices. I've not eaten here often, mostly because it's so busy, but we tried the pizzas last time we were there and... where was The Big Slope...
