name: johnemail: recently stumbled over the most beautiful pub while on a walk near the white horse. the black wan an oldstead is located in a beautiful remote location, about a mile from byland abbey. we were greeted by a burning fire and friendly host and I was pleased to see a selection of Cask-Ales including black sheep and copper dragons. enjoy a well-earned drink on the mouseman' bar, which we take on the specials board, not only their average pub duck. so impressed by our new sound we decided to return a week later to dinner. eating was just stunning! we've been back five times and never found a debt. the family who own the pub and the personal are friendly and efficient. this is not...

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed, as we have paid for some very nice but completely tasteless food through the nose. we started with the free area chicken terrine with pea mousse, English quails egg, plucked and crispy bacon and the Pan-fried mackerel with mackerel fritters and warm pickled vegetables. both dishes were presented very well, but it is a big, but they had little or no taste. the huh was completely free from any taste at all, in which did, the only point on the teller that tasted of everything, was the crispy speck. the fish dish was lit...

Sadly we were hugely disappointed as we paid through the nose for some very pretty but completely flavour free food.We started with the free range Free-range Chicken Terrine with Pea Mousse, English Quails Egg, Peas and Crispy Bacon and the Pan-fried Mackerel with Mackerel Fritters and Warm Pickled Vegetables. Both dishes were extremely well presented but, and it is a BIG but, they had little or no flavour.
