We were in France for a week and had meals in a few Michelin starred restaurants. This meal was the best of them all. The 3 hours drive from Toulouse was well worth the trip. The dishes were imaginative, colourful and the service impeccable. The restaurant is situated on a hill outside the village. Pre-dinner drinks overlooking the Laguiole countryside was just amazing. The Bras has a 13 rooms boutique hotel at the restaurant. This was an unique experience. Highly recommended at least once a lifetime.

Since Chef Bras father, this was always on my bucket list and it didn't disappoint. From the drive up to the sad farewell, everything was just perfect. The view, the kindness of Sebastien BRAS and his wonderfully welcoming wife, the staff who know their craft both in terms of knowledge, balancing presence and discretion, a kind word, humor and getting the timing of service just right. And finally THE FOOD! Be ready to be blown away by each bite, the mastery of simplicity yet phenomenal taste. I was expect great, I got so so so much more.A dream really came true. It was so beyond what I had heard or read.... Worth every (a lot) of penny !

We have dined here previously and have never been disappointed. Our dinner this time was the best dining experience we have had in our 74 years anywhere. The restaurant is the ultimate in fine dining. Nothing but the word "outstanding" can describe the ambience, the staff, and the food. It was truly a memorable evening for us. We were a bit concerned prior to our visit that the changing of the guard from Michel Bras to Sebastian might be a disappointing development. Not only has everything remained superb, but it may even be better than our previous visits. The food is wonderfully presented, the restaurant views amazing and the restaurant grounds full of wildflowers. Service was mostly very good. I must admit I was expecting to be wowed slightly more given the restaurants reputation. Whilst all the dishes were good, only the first...salad dish (very pretty mix of wild flowers and herbs) was the only dish to surprise. The rest were very very good, but not as ground-breaking as say a restaurant such as L’enclume. Service was a bit slow at first – it took a while for the menu and amuse-bouche to arrive and the order taken. Once seated service was smooth, as you would expect. We opted for the nine course menu. Several friendly chefs from Buenos Aires, knowing that we were going to be near Laguiole, told us imperatively: Go to Michel Bras, an innovator of the kitchen. Le Suquet has a fantastic location at the top of a hill with extensive views comprising the restaurant and the hotel.Michel is considered a culinary genius because he was one of the few that used wild plants and edible flowers in his dishes. Having been fortunate to visit both places with the space of 4 days, here is my take on their respective merits, covering both the hotel and restaurant.Setting: the endless expanses of the Aubrac plateau vs the rugged terrain of the Corbieres. Views at Bras are mesmerizing wherever you are in the place. Goujon is not as dramatic but you can enjoy the baldaquin mattresses and swimming-pool right outside your room. Rooms are very good but don't expect Sheraton-like amenities. Our daughter took us to the Le Suquet by Bras restaurant as a treat to celebrate our joint 60th birthday. I'd never been to a 3-start Michelin restaurant before and certainly not one where the chef has recently been awarded the No.1 chef in the world for 2016. I understand that stars are awarded not only on the food, although this is of course a huge consideration, but also on the venue and the service offered.On the food front we went for the Balade menu at the princely sum of EUR 220, not cheap but you're only 60 once.
