"Wow what a fabulous pub. We had booked for Sunday lunch for 4 of us. Had not heard of the restaurant before but was half way from our friends . What a gem! It’s was full of arrival so that’s a good sign! Quite a small car park but managed to get a space ! Sunday lunch the roast was huge my husband and friends said the beef and pork was amazing and the yorkshires were massive ! I had the trio of fish (pescatarian) it was delicious and I couldn’t finish it. Desert lovely treacle tart and sticky toffee when down a treat! We all rolled out of the restaurant ! All the staff were said friendly and attentive we wasn’t left with an empty glass and didn’t have to wait too long for lunch. Would highly recommend."

"The staff kindly helped us delay our meal by a week due to illness first of all. Once we did get there, it was so worth the wait. From starter to dessert, the meals were exceptional. Tasty and very generous portions. The turkey was buttery and melt in your mouth, the fillet of beef was the nicest ever according to my husband. I couldn’t manage my cheese board so they boxed it up for me to take home. We received excellent, attentive service all night and the pub had the fire going, the tree looked beautiful. It was just a really lovely evening out and we’ll definitely have Christmas dinner there over the holiday period in 2023 too."

"Went with friends for lunchtime meal at this very popular restaurant. We were given a warm welcome on arrival and shown to our table. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The menu is comprehensive authentic Chinese, mostly Cantonese, (and not aimed at the sickly sweet European taste) an amazing range of starters, combo dishes, sea food, beef, chicken and duck platters to choose from with vegetable and rice dishes all beautifully arranged and served. There was a very good drinks listing both alcoholic and soft as well as different teas. The quality of the food is evidenced in the diners being mostly local Chinese people. The restaurant has comfortable seating but as it is so popular the tables seem to be very close sometimes impeding service. The toilet facilities were spotless but up a very long steep staircase. Parking has to be some way distant as the restaurant does not have any parking. As the restaurant is on one level disabled access is okay from the street, but toilet access could be a problem. Children are made welcome."

"We booked as a large party of 10, for a weekend lunch. Having seen the online menu, there was a great choice of smaller plates to full mains, good vegetarian options, and kids' menu. The service was great, drinks quickly organised and delivered, as our party arrived in several groups. The food was prepared to a really high standard with generous portions and decent prices. Overall, it was a great experience, the pub is neat, clean, and bright, with what looked like a good garden area. It pays homage to the nearby USAF base, which is a nice touch."

"we really enjoyed our visit to fox and hounds on Sunday for a roast. the service and the staff were very friendly, efficient and fast. for beginners we ordered terrine and flat stare. terrine was tasteful with layers of duck, carrot and lynx. quince marmelade added the dish really good, terrine also came with a piece roasted sourdough brot. lachstar was slightly smoked and had caper and crumbled in him, it came with a casual quails egg and a sodabred. it was a great beginning of the meal. we had both fryed for our head, it was sensational. meat was so tender, thin cut and cooked for perfection, it simply melted in mouth. Cartoa were crispy outside and soft and fluffy inside, carcass was alive green and crispy, flower casssé boiled al dente and not mud. yorkshire pudding was massiw had a crispy and soft texture, just as she expected to be a perfect yorkshire pudding. pies du resistanse was my dessert, Custard tea with boozy russines and muskatnuss, the baked was really thin and custard perfectly set and silky smooth. we also had steamed pudding, it was just as delicious and came with real custard. thanks to everyone at fox and hounds for a fantastic meal, I really can't wait to return to januar."
