"My wife and I ate at andaluz during the festival and both got diarrhoea and vomiting that night. I asked for a refund for just the food and got a masterclass in bad service. First i got passed off to the parent company DRG (andaluz had nothing to say); then I was told I had to resubmit my email request into an online form (they couldn 't do that); then I was told I would have to wait for an 'investigation ' before they would respond and then 2 weeks later!!! I get the inevitable fob off (nailed on from the start). They say that according to their investigation, they have followed their internal processes and therefore the diarrhoea and vomiting was nothing to do with them so tough luck Eat at your own risk Behind the facade, andaluz and the rest of DRG 's enterprise is just a money grabbing machine that cares as much about its customers and its product as a budget airline. Don 't waste your money on these clowns there are literally dozens of authentic restaurants within a 5 minute walk DRG is: andaluz, edinburgh; anchor line, glasgow; atlantic brasserie, glasgow; cadiz, edinburgh; citizen bar, glasgow; amarone, glasgow; andaluz, glasgow; barolo, glasgow; di maggio 's, glasgow"

We came here for a family get together and had a fabulous time, great service, good food and nice surroundings. We couldn’t fault it.

We ate at Cafe Andaluz at a very busy time due to the Fringe and Tattoo; it was too loud and crowded for our taste. The food was mostly very good. They were out of the churros dessert I was looking forward to, so we were disappointed.

Visited for a quick lunch where the front of house staff were welcoming. Only had 3 tapas and whilst the ensalade Mallorca and pinchitos morinos were tasty the meal was let down by the soggy patatas bravas which we had expected to be crispy.

We were in Edinburgh for work and were looking for great Tapas in the city and found just the right spot! We hadn’t booked a table but they quickly accommodated us. Everything we ate was just amazing especially the Patatas Gratinadas! Service was good too!

Like many place in the 'burgh at fringe time it was fully booked, but we were offered a table for an hour. Had a couple of tapas while waiting for a paella. My friend had a nice glass of Spanish Rose and I had the Victoria draft beer. All excellent. The place was buzzing.

Staff very efficient but the food was warm but not hot, the sauces were warmish and not as fabulous as I expected. The restaurant is absolutely stunning, has a wonderful atmosphere and we stayed chatting for ages. Would return but maybe ask not to have all mains delivered at once ?

Came here for an Anniversary lunch and was hugely disappointed. A few things I had asked for without oil I couldn’t get even a salad which seemingly comes in prepared I couldn’t get. Staff were helpful esp our server but I felt on this occasion they let us down it was meant to be a nice afternoon celebrating and I left hugely disappointed. We usually go to the one in Glasgow which forever reason seems to be different. Maybe next time it will be better. We also felt the portion sizes were small and overpriced.

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
