"We have lived in France now for about 6 months, we have tried many eating establishments and have rarely had a bad meal, this restaurant has swept the board and is now my No 1 favourite. What is so good?We sat in the conservatory at the front, it is beautiful, it took me back to our honeymoon in Paris 34 years ago, the windows, ironwork and general feel set us off on the right track, it was also nice and warm, heated by several fitted convector heaters, I had the view inside the building so I could see the busy bar which was another good sign that we had found a good eatery.I ordered the French equivalent of a mixed grill, there were 4 meats, all immaculately cooked, I went for the option "A POINT" which was exactly how the Steak and Duck came, the Veal and the Loin of pork being cooked a little more, the meats came on a stone board which had a small groove around so that the juices were captured before falling off the board and I used the crusty baguette to mop these up, the meats were accompanied by a bowl of french fries which were also perfectly cooked,There was a good portion of each meat and each piece was perfectly tender and moist, 10/10.My wife had a salad (I;m the big one and she is careful what she eats t),! It was the seafood salad, with loads of beautiful smoked salmon and shell on prawns, all fresh and presented very nicely.I had the cheeseboard which came with a small beautifully dressed salad and a pot of relish (relish with a cheeseboard is not my thing so I left this), there were 3 cheeses, a Tomme, a Brebis and a Chevre, they were all delicious, my only complaint was that the Chevre (which was my favourite) was too small a portion, My wife had a Tiramisu (OK, she should have gone French), it wasn't on the menu, but she was attracted to it when she spotted it in the chiller cabinet, she was not disappointed, in fact even though I could have helped her to eat it, I never got a sniff, it must have been that good, he he,Far in excess of our expectations, we will be returning on a regular basis,A slight negative for the service was that we were questioned in relation to our booking when we arrived, we had to show our reservation E-mail (Which fortunately we had kept on the phone), (We had booked 2 weeks in advance)"

Quite big list of dishes, rather commercial ones, but the portions are big and you will feel your money spent well. Quick service.

I was waking in the park area across the street and decided the the tables in front of the restaurant were a great place to spend some time. This is a great location to sit and enjoy a nice afternoon.

this is a good honest, no nonsense bar at a crucifix and excellent for people watching. that was exactly what we needed after a long hot walk and desperate for a cool beer in a shaded bar. hot sun, cooler shade, cold drink! wonderful

My wife and I went one lunchtime and chose from the a la carte menu. We both started with avocado and prawns. We both agreed that the prawns were watery and tasteless. The avocado was drench with a bland mayonnaise. Disappointing. For my main I had entrecote steak with chips. The chips were down at the McDonalds end of appearance and taste. The steak was rather tough. My wife had the duck confit which she thought was very dry and had been deep fried. The service was very friendly quick and helpful. The architecture of the building is evocative of late 19th century - exactly what you expect from a good brasserie, so it is not all bad!

Having been referred to this establishment by our hotel near St. Emilion, we located it without any trouble and parking was free and nearby. It is very inviting from the outside and we took a table in the covered and enclosed veranda area fronting the street. There were many diners and groups gathered above us in the regular seating areas and nearby in the bar. Our waitress, while very pleasant, spoke literally no English and neither was there an English menu. So we made our way to decisions for dinner fare and she got everything right! The shared French onion soup was the best we had, the extremely large salad had all sorts of nuts and dried fruits and was outstanding, the steak with bernai...
