Stopped for an evening beer and found a friendly place serving good drinks at reasonable prices. Friendly helpful staff

We enjoyed the food here extensive selection of French food. We will come back with friends. Try to be open on hot days !

Good food, great service and a happy owner that was appreciative of our efforts to speak his language. We had coq a vin, with wonderful chip wedges, just right for dinner and salad for lunch on a lovely sunny late October afternoon.

We ate here evenings in the past month and both times the food (we ate fish,duck and chicken) was fantastic, the service spot on and our host very gracious. This restaurant experience is unique, I urge to experience it. You will not be disappointed.

It was raining quite a lot last Friday afternoon so trying to see Quillan we ended up in this Cafe for a tea and the waiter serve it very friendly but just tea did not offer anything else Bar is. Whenever we're in Quillan, we stop here for lunch. The little square is charming, the owner Mike is very pleasant and efficient. The food is always fantastic (today the fresh salmon plancha and tuna steak were cooked to perfection) and very fresh. I would highly...recommend this place to anyone passing through.

Freezing cold, wet and dark night in Quillan. Café du Fleuve had a welcoming light on so we headed over. Proprietor explained to us that he had no customers at all that evening due to the horrible weather but just as we were about to...leave disappointed he said he would heat up the plancher again but could we wait minutes before ordering. He made us a lovely couple of gin and tonics and we settled down to wait for our meal which was delicious. One or two other travellers braved the cold night and joined us later and all in all it was a good evening. Pity not all cafes/restaurants are as accommodating as this lovely man. If it hadn't been the last night of our short break we would have eaten...

As others have pointed out one takes a bit of a gamble with Cafe du Fleuve as its opening hours are erratic to say the least and even when its open supplies of basics can be a bit limited. (When my husband asked for cognac...there was only one glass left Having said all that this is a lovely welcoming place with a great position on the square and very friendly staff. The limited menu whilst of the salad, omlette, snack variety is actually really good. The lasagne was truly delicious. Whilst the outside seating area is great for sunny days the interior offers table games such as Trivial Pursuit and a tv which makes for a great atmosphere when significant sports matches are being screened.
