"Without a doubt, this restaurant is one of our favorites in Belfast. It features quirky decor and music, warm hospitality, and excellent modern European cuisine at reasonable prices. The set menu is only £17 for two courses, and you can add a fantastic bottle of wine for just £10 more. My lamb portion was so generous that I could barely finish half of it, and it came with some of the most delicious roasted winter root vegetables I've had in a long time. My spouse's rump steak au poivre was equally generous, served with hot, crispy thick chips and homemade onion rings. Absolutely top-notch!"

"I needed somewhere to sit down really badly. I went in here explaining all I needed was a cup of coffee until I recovered and was collected. I had two, the coffee was that great. I can not eat when I am out as the reaction is more trouble than it is worth but I look forward to having a sit in here again and leaving with something nice for home. I really think it is a pity that lovely little spots like this are bring edged out by excess bills and bureaucratic difficulties, to replaced by the bland plastic chicken merchants. But perhaps that is the plan."

"Been to this place a few times, sit and takeaway. While I cannot fault the food as it is always tasty and well presented, they do seem to be forgetful. Was in a few weeks ago, got Chicken Goujons and chips with Garlic and Sweet chilli dips to takeaway and a Caramel Rise crispy Square, brought back to the office was delicious and really enjoyed but today they lost their memory. Said to me I couldnt have gotten them there and they do not offer as takeaway. This was only 2 weeks ago so someone has got it wrong. Very disspointing that they did not seem to beleive me and even asked was I sure it was in their establishment. Not good to question a customer like that. Anyhow, did not seem to be getting though to them, all four of them. Order a toastie and a carmel rice crispy square, Toasties lovely, Carmel Rice Crispy Square was not in the bag, just a plain one. It was nice but not a s nice as the others. Lesson, do not agrue with customers, if they say they got something they got it. Pity , as the food is good. Update, still not been back, no reply from the resturant. That means they still believe their own PR. Update 20th Feb 2024, have been back recently and really cannot fault the food, sandwiches , good choices and some lovely tray bakes. Appreciate the chef reply to reviews and explaining the situation."

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. "We succeeded in finding a wonderful restaurant in Belfast. Smaller place with superb service, great location, and skillfully prepared food. The duck cassoulet was the best dish of my entire life. Everything else we were served was delicious and satisfying. Do not leave your chance to eat here to luck. Make sure to have a reservation—the world is discovering just how special this place is!"
