Arrived late into Paris from London. Au Coin de la Rue was within walking distance of our hotel on a rainy night. Stopped in and ordered the Eggs Mayonaisse, the Beef Tartare w fries, salad and fresh baguette , the Butcher 's Piece (flank steak) w a mmushroom pepper gravy, fries and salad, and a hot red wine. Theu were all delicious. Prices were good. The two young men who were working were funny and treated us well. Overall a great first stop on our first ever visit to Paris.

we found that in august several restaurants listed here as open are actually closed for their holiday month. we went to two places near our hotel, both closed, so we went to au coin. we were thrilled by the friendly staff and the small but...different menu. from fishing and chips to the Tandoori chicken, from burgers to the tar. the caffe has seating opportunities in the free and is exactly what they want to be a parisy caffe. open until late evening, we'll be back before we leave.

au coin de la rue is not a beautiful place, but we enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and good eating. the regular menu offers a series of burgers and simple French standards, but the daily dishes offered variety to appropriate trips. my fish choucroute had many. of different fishing and garnel on a bed of choucroute. it was so generous that I couldn't finish it. my man enjoyed his laundry and baked vasserine cheese. if you live in the hotel varenne, this is a good choice close to you.
