Since we were only staying at a nearby hotel for the night, we just needed some decent food without going too far. Cap Vers fit the bill exactly. The service was excellent with friendly and helpful staff. The food itself was good; nothing spectacular, but hit the right note. I think this is your best option if you are staying close to the train station and you need lunch or dinner.

Staying at one of the hotels by the Gare St Jean I asked the guy on reception to recommend a restaurant nearby. He immediately came up with the Cap Vers which was just a few minutes away. It was almost empty when by wife and I arrived about 19.00 but it soon became very busy. The menu offered was small but varied and value for money. The service was good. Overall it was a good place to spend our last evening in Bordeaux.

I was in a hurry from the lower of the bus forty minutes before my train and starve. I asked the server if it was possible to have lunch in the emergency and it was absolutely perfect! fast, friendly and food was delicious! He even packed my dessert to eat on the train.
