Our apartment recommended this place and booked us a table about 2 months in advance as it is very popular. We got sat next to a lovely couple from Denmark the tables are close together so it's a very sociable place. The food was lovely and the service was spot on.

We managed to secure a booking for lunch (3 courses for €20) and were blown away by the service and quality of the food: grilled peach/burrata, panna cotta with lobster bisque, smoked salmon with lentil salad, Gorgonzola gnocchi and desserts were all top notch. Would...highly recommend (and also booking).

Comme d'habitude, difficile de mettre une autre note à ce haut lieu de la gastronomie niçoise.... Toujours difficile d'arriver à réserver une table, mais la récompense est au bout du chemin! Je trouve que cet endroit rappelle furieusement les (meilleurs) bouchons lyonnais : ambiance conviviale, espace réduit, cuisine familiale locale de qualité. Ma femme et moi avons une seule envie : y retourner l'année prochaine!

I am vegetarian but really wanted to be able to go somewhere French with my carnivore husband. This place was perfect. I had gazpacho and gnocchi, he had smoked salmon with lentils and beef and truffle mash, plus desserts. At €20 each, it was really...good value and drinks were reasonable at €9 for a wine and a beer. We called in on the Friday night and were lucky to get a reservation for the Monday night, our last night in Nicè.

We were also next to a charming Danish couple, possibly on the same 'Table d'Hote',This was our first visit and well worthwile.Only handicap is that when you are on the 7.30pm sitting, you have to make way for the next lot of happy customers! (At 9pm)Time flies, when the food, the wine, and the company is good.Starter main and dessert, all home-made and delicious, 18 euro menu with choices,and carafe wine as well as an excellent Cotes de Provence.The boss looked after everyone efficiently. Overall a worthwile experience.Merci Philippe !

Superbe entrée de fines lamelles de veau avec une sauce mayonnaise à base de thon et de câpres, très goûteux, très joli, très fin, on en redemande, on sauce entièrement l'assiette avec du bon pain. Magnifique magret de canard, bien copieux avec son chausson de pâte fourré aux herbes, ou bien l’agneau confit longuement mijoté. Et pourquoi pas une bière corse en apéro, histoire de se mettre en appétit ! Toujours aussi bon, aussi génial, aussi simple mais de grande classe, le tout pour 18€. A faire et refaire, disons deux fois par mois, quand le menu a changé !

we had booked a table by phone for our first night in nizza. When we arrived behind the bar, the “gentleman” said that they had no booking for us and that they were full. he then explained flicking pages in a book that wanted to be completely empty! the restaurant was only half full. he couldn't have been rougher. we were left open and thrown out of the restaurant. We had a memorable time at Chez Palmyre! I booked by calling a week ahead and was lucky to get a 7:30pm seating during our stay. We sat next to a lovely couple from Ireland who own a second home in Nice and frequent this restaurant often. We had a great time chatting with them the whole meal. We love to meet and talk with other people on our travels, so the communal seating was appealing to us when I heard about this place. This couple and other French people at our table helped us decipher the menu written on the mirror.
