Absolutely fantastic, the staff were outstanding and the food first class. I believe the servers were George and Teshire.

I never realised that chefs can’t cook breakfast!! Rock hard potatoes. Cold bacon. Eggs inedible due to plenty of vinegar! On a positive the mushrooms were nice. Jeepers Cote. Raise your game

The atmosphere was lovely. We celebrated a family birthday with friends and everyone was well taken care of. Even the little one seemed to enjoy their meal. The bill was easily sorted with no issues. They were very accommodating. Thank you. Speisekarte ansehen

What a lovely evening the service from our waiter and waitress was exceptional, the food was delicious I had the Confit pork for the first time and can't wait to have it again, a big thank you to George and I think her name was Teisha for making it a such a great experience x

Visited on 16th December as part of our 37th wedding anniversary. We had a fantastic time. The staff were excellent especially the manager who made us feel most welcome. The food was absolutely delicious as was the ambience. Definitely going to book for next year’s anniversary.

We have been regular visitors here for breakfast, lunches and dinners for many years and have always had a lovely experiences whenever we visit. We went for breakfast this morning and it was excellent as usual. We had eggs royal and smoked salmon and scrambled eggs......all delicious and we couldn't resist having a second coffee as it's so good. All the staff are so friendly and efficient and we are always made to feel very welcome, as we were this morning. Looking forward to visiting again soon. Speisekarte ansehen

We have been to this restaurant many times and have always enjoyed the food and service, so today when we arrived at 12 to a nearly empty restaurant, we were surprised to be told it was fully booked, even for a table for 2. Disappointed, we looked on line to see there were tables available at this time and afterwards! Did we not fit your profile?? We usually have at least 2 courses with a bottle of wine and pay for 12% service charge without a quibble. Fortunately we found somewhere else to eat just as nice and friendly!

We went on spec after looking for somewhere to have lunch as everywhere was very busy but we were welcomed by Kieran who showed us to a nice table and the food was so good that we decided to come back a couple of days later for dinner. Our server was Joe and you could not have met a warmer, friendly and helpful young man who was both efficient and knowledgeable. An excellent gluten free menu, easy to understand but Joe was able to make sure that the meal was adapted. We had the Chateau and the chocolate mousse both excellent. We will be back next time we are in York and thoroughly recommend the Cote

I really didn’t want to write this because it’s Christmas and everyone is tired and on empty but…. I booked Cotes as I was sent an email with a link to book for my birthday and 1 glass per party of complimentary fizz would be provided . The service was ok .. server lacked any knowledge or charisma but sweet . The service was a bit slow . We were never asked if we wanted another drink we had to keep asking …my husband told the waitress that it was my 40th and if they had anything special she could do …. I over heard him but she replied Ah no maybe next time . Bill was 181 .00 for 4 which I felt wasn’t worth it . I hate giving bad feedback but I just felt the manager needed to know .. perhaps...
