"I am staying in Venasque for a month, so i have become quite familiar with the two restaurants currently operating here. (I believe the third, indicated in the rating, only is serving their hotel clients.) While both restaurants are very good, of the two, Les Remparts and Cote Fontaine, I would flip the rating and put Cote Fontaine first in both cuisine and ambiance. Unfortunately, for me, this restaurant is closed for annual vacation leave the last half of my stay. If you are in Venasque in 2016, I was told it is closed through October 25, and since it is normally closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays, I believe it will re-open on Thursday, October 27. This is a small restaurant run by two people, both of whom bring passion to their professions. The ingredients are locally-sourced and seasonal, so even during my stay, there have been some seasonal adaptations to the menus. It is all house made, even the marvelous ice creams! The food was so delicious and so beautifully presented! They were very willing to accommodate my special requests. The choices are limited, with attention to every detail. There is a lunch prix-fixe menu at 19,50 euro, a 26 euro menu available for lunch or dinner, and a 38 euro menu available only for the evening dinner time, as well as a few additional items on the a la carte menu. I ate here 5-6 times over a two-week period. Some of my favorite dishes were--appetizers: a wonderful, creamy parsnip puree with bits of pancetta and slivers of bacon (wow!); fresh goat brousse cheese on crisp crackers; gazpacho; principal plates--I had pork farcis served in two versions, one in a baked butternut squash and the other served on a variety of veggies (eggplant, zucchini, potato)--YUM!! Among the desserts, there were several with plums and/or plum sauce, as well as delicious house made plum ice cream (it was plum season!); a blancmange; a creamy chocolate entremet (that's the English translation, too, and I'm mot sure what to call it, but it was wonderful, served with a scoop of fruit ice cream that was out-of-this-world! The cheese course is an additional 5 euro and consisted of a tasting of four different cheeses, accompanied by a dab of cherry preserves.I highly recommend this establishment for those of you who are here when it re-opens! While both restaurants are very good, this one has my highest recommendation. The food is fantastic, the ambiance is warm and intimate, with window views overlooking the Place de la Fontaine, the server and the chef will do everything in their power to make your visit a delight!"

The menu provided several options including great variety for vegetarians. The chef is very creative in ingredients in addition to presentation. There was candied lentils for dessert! Overall, fun dining experience.

Stumbled accidentally into this small restaurant for dinner. There are just a few choices on the menu but the cooking had very high standards. We were four and tried three different menus and all were excellent. Also the small village Venasque is very authentic. If possible ask for a table with a view on the little square! highly recommended!

We love the Provencal cuisine. The Cote Fontaine excellently prepares local cuisine on 'Modern Art' and presents it surprisingly! We enjoyed our dinner in a pleasant modern atmosphere! The service is attentive and interested, the price-performance ratio is good and we gladly go to length to make this tasting experience!Since the restaurant is small book a table.

Kevin and Killien are two brothers with a gift for excellence. Kevin creates excellent dishes that continually change with the fresh produce of Provence. He has a good eye for the aesthetic and handles seafood delicately. Killien is friendly and knowledgable about the dishes and the wines. They make the lunch or evening a delight. Strongly recommended for a more refined meal in this lovely village. Small and intimate. Not noisy.

We went to the medieval festival held by this lovely community and it was a great time. The restaurants were packed but we were given a table for lunch and we were thrilled. The set menu included a free glass of best mulled wine I have ever had in my life and some cheesy profiteroles and the main course was a half of a pumpkin like squash stuffed with rice and sausage, YUM. Desert was also yummy. We are so glad we were able to eat here and so glad we were able to be there for the festival.

I Last visited the restaurant last year after it had just been taken over by new management. The same staff are still running the restaurant and the food and service are just as good as they were more than 12 months ago. They have now two set menus you can order from, or go a la carte. The food is still sourced locally and is well cooked and presented and they also feature local wines as well. It was possible just to order a glass of wine rather than a bottle if that is what you prefer. The only thing I would have changed was to add a green vegetable to the baby chicken dish with potatoe in a lobster sauce that I had, something like green beans would have been a good addition. The desert was...
