Very good food, well presented nothing to fault. Our waitress was very good happily chatting and engaging in conversation with us (sometimes the students can be a little shy)

We visit every few months and always enjoy the experience. This time we went for lunch with a group of friends. I had carrot and coriander soup which was very tasty. Others had whitebait which was nicely presented. I, and a number of others, had cod Mornay on rosti potatoes very good and accompanied with a good variety of vegetables. I didn’t have a dessert but those who did enjoyed them. The service was of a reasonable standard, particularly considering the students were only in their first year. Tonight, Tuesday, we visited the restaurant with two friends, menu had changed to when we had booked. Beef ran out, not a whole piece of salmon, cut in half. My friend said on other occasions this had not happened. Had to choose things we were not really happy with. Salmon had no potato or veg, a let down, have better at home! The person we had serving did not know a dessert spoon to a serving spoon, surely this is taught? My friend visit often, said she had not come up against this before, with food running out and changing menu, not good when you do not eat certain things. Starters, chicken had ran out as well! We have been here many times and have never been disappointed and last night was no exception. We meet with friends regularly and try different restaurants locally, this time I suggested Novus and they were blown away by the whole experience. Due to it being the first night back after half term, we were the only diners in the restaurant however this did not impinge on the quality or quantity of our food. The bread was cooked to perfection . My starter was up there for one of the best I’ve ever had. Bubble and squeak with a slice of crispy bacon with a perfect poached egg on top. Blade of beef so tender for mains. Lovely crème brûlée for afters. Friend had bavoir she said it was beautiful). O...

We had not been to Novus recently but decided to go again when we saw the menu. We had always gone as part of a group but this time just the two of us went. When we arrived we were surprised to see that there were just six other people dining, although a group of seven young people who had not booked turned up. Anyway my wife had asparagus with poached egg which she said was very good. I had scallops which came with both mustard and hollandaise sauces the former was rather overwhelmed by the latter but overall it was pretty good. We both had belly pork which we enjoyed but the crackling could have been more, well, crackling: it came with kale, butternut squash purée and black pudding mash. F... Speisekarte ansehen
