We had lunch here today. Varied menue, daily specials. Frienfly staff, clearly loved by local residents. We were made very welcome and the food was excellent all at a reasonable price.

Das Café du Globe Restaurant liegt nur eine Straße weiter entfernt von unserem Hotel Eden. Tolles Essen! Dieses Restaurant hat eine Kleinstadtatmosphäre. Es ist einfach gemütlich mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Empfohlen.

Wir waren am frühen Abend für einen Aperitif dort. Ordentlicher Wermut und Ricard zu einem guten Preis bei 9 Chefkoch für die beiden. Schönes kleines Café mit guter Atmosphäre und freundlichem Personal. In der Nähe des Casinos und des Sees gelegen.

We stumbled upon this little cafe. Not fancy, not large, looks like mostly locals. We had a filling dinner for for not much more that a hundred bucks by Switzerland standards this is quite reasonable. Had the Demi (small) filet and it was...perfect size.

While there is a separate [more fancy dining area, I always prefer the cafe/bar side. Local menus with seasonal local fare, with great prices and nice service. I live just around the corner and can see the back door of the place from my balcony....DO take a chance on the place.

We found the brassiere early and entered. There was no one else present neither customers or staff. We sat down and in while we were offered menus ordered drinks and a meal. The food was good. Not over complicated. Other people came in. A family...of three generations. A of Italians followed. The cheese fondue was a favourite. Next time I will try the pigs trotters.

After years of never changing, the Globe has new signwriting on the window and new, fresh paint inside. I must admit that I was a little disappointed the old Globe looked like a set from Allo Allo and was intriguingly dim. A lot of...the old menu remains, the prices are only slightly higher and the new owners seem to have managed to keep the old customers. It's probably a step in the right direction. Still remarkable value for Montreux.

I have previously submitted reviews on this small restaurant giving it high praise. It used to be a real timewarp, a bit dark and attracting interesting clientele because it is also a betting shop. The value, though, used to be outstanding. Unfortunately the new...owners have hugely increased the prices. Whilst they have also smartened the place up, the main courses are the same prices as other, much smarter restaurants in Montreux. The regular local customers seem to have disappeared. What a pity. I will miss my visits here.

There is another TripAdvisor listing for Café Restaurant Le Globe It is the same place it's just that both listings have been set up with incorrect names. Strangely, the other listing has better reviews! Anyway this is my third review of this charming, old...fashioned bar with food. People I know in Montreux have never used the bar, just because it is not as glitzy as other restaurants in the town. Just imagine that you have stumbled across this place in a mountain village. It probably dates back to a time when Montreux was a lot less flashy. The draft beer is cheap by Montreux standards as is the excellent food.
