"We called ahead the night before to reserve a table for 6pm for two people. The restaurant asked if we could come at 5:45, but due to ferry times, we would be closer to 6pm. They said it was fine. Unfortunately, our ferry was a few minutes late and when we arrived, we were rudely informed that the cafe closed at 6pm. We were surprised that an eating establishment would close so early. However, we were told that if we ordered at the counter, we could still sit in. The staff glared at us, even though the establishment closed at 7pm, it was clear they were preparing to leave at 7. Despite the nice food, we felt rushed and wished they had explained the situation during the phone call so we could have made alternate plans."

This restaurant is definitely worth the trip from Lerwick. The scallops in batter were delicious, as were the homemade mushy peas and coleslaw. The views were also fabulous.

This was excellent, you can choose whether to have your fish battered or bread crumbed, which is not always the case in other establishments, it was well cooked, good portions and absolutely delicious. One of the highlights of our trip.

This is a great chippy, with sit in and takeaway options. Their fish and chips are justifiably famous, with the fish being so fresh and tasty, and they serve so many other things too sea food of course and also chicken and burgers among others. Speisekarte ansehen

On a brief vacation stay in the beautiful Shetland Islands we happened upon Frankies at lunch time and took a break to enjoy a delightful meal. The best haddock and smoked haddock we have ever had along with the home made mushy peas. Definitely not to be missed if you are in the area.

What a find, this fish restaurant takeaway in Mainland Shetland should be on everyone’s to do list that visits these islands. Spotlessly clean, a very wide variety and friendly helpful service make this a must do. Loads of parking, sit in or take away, your choice, but just make sure that you get here!

The quality was poor and the portions were very small. The fish was mostly batter with very little actual fish, and there were only a few chips scattered throughout. Despite being cooked fresh, they were not very hot. Additionally, the prices were quite high. You can find much better chips at the harbor in Lerwick. Speisekarte ansehen

Easily the best gluten free fish chips I've ever had. The batter on the fish was perfect, and the chips were crispy on the outside and super-soft on the in side. They were sooooooo good. It was my first time having haddock and it didn't disappoint. Very tasty. If I ever make it back to Shetland I am making a visit to Frankie's a priority.

This is an award-winning chippie, and certainly the fish and chips are very good, not the absolute best I have had in Shetland, but then Shetland is noted for outstanding fish cookery. It is ecologically sound too, big on sustainability. The surroundings are beautiful and the place itself pleasant, though oddly lacking in atmosphere. Service is brisk and efficient and prices reasonable. There's a nice outside terrace to see the views from.
