The service at this restaurant is fast and the staff are very attentive, which is crucial in a busy bar. I visited with friends and discovered one of London's best hidden gems.

I haven't had burgers this delicious in a while! The cocktails were amazing and the vibe was chill and relaxed at first, but it turned into a lively party atmosphere later in the night. It was a great evening out and I will definitely come back.

I had dinner at the Gate last night, we were served quickly and food was yummy! I would highly recommend smokey burger with applewood cheddar, macaroni&cheese and coleslaw, simply delicious! The bar has dozens of cocktails to choose from and Watermelon Mojito is amazing! Speisekarte ansehen

This club should not be called a restaurant. The burgers were awful, mine wasn't cooked hardly at all even though I asked for a really well done one. The food was served on plastic trays, a bit like school dinners. Grease surrounded the burger, it was awful. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome but I would not recommend eating there.

Visited the Gate with a group of girlfriends on Friday and had an absolute ball! Night started with great 2 for 1 cocktails and continued with some amazing platters of nibbles that went down a treat. The venue itself is like a little old school basement bar and restaurant (charming, friendly and unassuming) but what made the night was that the whole thing turns into a proper dancing club till the early hours of the morning. All and all a great and fun night out and will be back soon.

The burger I had at this restaurant had a disgusting smell to the meat. When I complained, I was initially told that the meat was fresh daily, but then the story changed to it being delivered on Mondays and Thursdays. I found it odd that there were only three tables of diners in the restaurant on a Friday night, which didn't seem to justify having two deliveries per week. The fries and coleslaw were tasty and presented well, but the loud music and screaming from the next room made it difficult to have a conversation with my dining companion. While wandering around Notting Hill in search of food, we stumbled upon this restaurant with a new classic burger-inspired menu. As a self-proclaimed burger enthusiast who has tried some of the best in both the U.S. and London, I wasn't expecting much from a bar venue. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The burgers, priced at less than ten pounds, were served on a classic-style tray with greaseproof paper, reminiscent of the Southern States. The bun was light, spongey, and slightly toasted - just perfect. The thinner patty allowed for a better char flavor. Couldn't help but give this place a review. Not too often do I spend my time in Notting Hill but I just found a very good reason to come back. I was just about to get back on the tube when I saw Gate Bar Restaurant doing gourmet burgers. I walked down the stairs and was greeted by a very nice bar in a very cool underground setting. The food was excellent, tasty burgers and the meat tasted fresh and had great flavour. I bought a Groupon deal which got my girlfriend and I two burgers with fries and two sides (we took chicken wings and macaroni cheese). The food was pretty great, the beef of the burger was clearly quality and the sides were very nice and super filling. I had a glance at the full menu and I think burger+fries priced at £7.50 is definitely cheap for what it was and that makes me want to come back.
