We visited the George and Dragon in Wentworth for Sunday lunch and had a wonderful experience. Although we had to wait for an hour, we attributed it to the restaurant being fairly busy.

This quaint, rustic country pub is located in the charming village of Wentworth. With log fires and a great selection of pints, it provides a cozy atmosphere. The food is especially delightful and offers excellent value for money.

Compared to our past visits, both the food and service have declined. The service was painfully slow, despite the dining area not being full or particularly busy. Unfortunately, we also noticed that the quality of the food was not up to the standards we experienced on our previous visits.

I've read some of the latest reviews from others, and I’m perplexed by how their experiences differ from ours. This country pub is not one of those typical fast-food chain establishments; everything is cooked to order, so there may be a bit of a wait.

We made a reservation for a table for six, along with one dog. The pub was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon, so I recommend parking in the village car park and walking up. The crowd was no surprise, as the food was absolutely fantastic. The service was not rushed at all, and our drinks were brought to our table upstairs. I ordered the porchetta, and now I’m eager to return to try more items from the menu. Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5.

We recently visited the George Dragon several times, and this time we came for lunch with two family members. We had made a reservation ahead of time, but two of our party were running a bit late. The lady on duty was very accommodating and kind. Our food order was taken promptly, and the service was excellent. The meals were cooked to a high standard, and the staff were attentive throughout our visit. I would highly recommend the Steak Ale Pie. We will definitely be back soon!
