"I arranged to meet friends who were visiting from Scotland at this restaurant in the lakes. I was expecting it to be more of a gourmet pub, but was somewhat disappointed. I ordered the ultimate burger, which was made with meat from a local butcher and was tasty, but overall I found the food to be very average. The service was slow, even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. We chose to sit outside because there was no atmosphere inside. The coffee and tea were made with instant coffee and tea bags. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience. The prices were not particularly cheap and I found it hard to understand why the restaurant had received 5 star reviews."

"My son took me out for a pre-booked meal at 4pm today to celebrate my 84th birthday. I was totally disappointed. Although the pub was empty we were asked to sit at a table near to the door and next to a family with 2 small children. (I have no problem at all with the children having several children and grandchildren of my own. The table was sticky! We were told we would have to wait a while as the chef was still on his way! The food wasn't good at all and I left half of my meal, as did my son. It spoilt my birthday and we will not be recommending or returning again. Extreme disappointing."

"Ok so not your normal review ! I just wanted to compliment the manager/owner for what was a horrible situation, most definitely not her fault . I sat outside with a friend and there was another table of older gentleman, one of which was exceptionally horrid to a young girl that was working there not in the cafe but on the farm itself , I don’t know exacting what he said but she was so upset she was crying and she ran off . Just a few minutes later a young lady I presume to be the manager or owner appeared and and confronted the man apologising for the noise that had apparently been the problem but reminding him it was a working farm with working machinery , to which he replied use a sweeping brush ! She kept completely cool and calm and told him politely she would not let anyone speak to a member of her staff in such a vile way particularly when all she was doing was her job , the guy then continued to call her some very abusive names , again she stayed calm offered them there money back asking them to leave and not to come back ! I hope she reads this , you were so professional and calm to what I can only describe as a disgusting human being , so well done and if by chance the guy in question reads this you should be ashamed of yourself! Ps . Your carrot cake was delicious and your staff delightful, can’t wait to come back x"

"Love the Green Man at Inglewhite, perfect for a stop on the way home from Beacon Fell with the little ones. One ale on which was kept well (Oscar's Gun Dog), wood burning stoves lit, nicely decorated for Autumn, friendly staff, and delicious lightly spiced cheesy chips and roast potatoes! Fabulous! Parking: Never had an issue parking here. Parking available and all close to the pub. Kid-friendliness: Perfectly friendly for children. No bespoke activities, but provided you are engaging parents potentially equipped with some little one pub games or colouring kit you're sorted! "This was our second visit and the Bangla Brassiere is now becoming one of our favourite Indian restaurants. Fabulous service and food. Seated for drinks to start with in a separate area then taken to our table after a few minutes. Our food was served in an appropriate amount of time and it was excellent. Everything was cooked exactly as we like it and the chicken melted away in my mouth. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the seats in the conservatory are perfect. As we were leaving at 7.30pm the restaurant was filling up. Recommend you book online and the restaurant confirms the booking via return email. We will definitely be back soon."
