Disguising food all cold and forgot half of the order and delivery driver getting all lairy and snatched the food back off me

Came here recently on a few occasions with a table of six and today table for 2. Ordered pork hot and spicey and both our meals came out pipping hot and tasting great.

This is just a cafe, no need to get dressed up, it’s appearance it that of a back street cafe that you would expect to order a breakfast from, with its plastic school dinner like tables and vinyl floors unless you know better you might walk past, but the food is amazing at such good value, lunch here can cost you as little as £6.50. Lots of students use this Chinese tea bar to have traditional cooked Chinese food, including students for Chinese origin, because it’s great food. Speisekarte ansehen

I’ve been a regular here for years but unfortunately the last few times I’ve visited there’s always been something a bit wrong. The most recent lunch I had here was a lunch menu item, chicken in batter with boiled rice. The chicken was dry and crumbly, yet greasy. Unpleasant. It’s a favourite meal I’ve had before without issues. Last time was a little dry, this time I couldn’t even finish it. Chicken either stale or fried too long. It’s a shame. I’ll give it some time before returning. Some new faces recently so maybe a change in management?

I have not eaten here for many years . A friend reminded me how good it was. They were not mistaken , first time back for Saturday lunch was fantastic , so good that we returned a fortnight later . The food was fab . The house special with noodles and belly pork with rice , were scrumptious. Hearty flavoursome dishes , full of meat and perfectly cooked vegetables. The portions are huge and actually too large . However the taste just makes you want to keep eating . The chilli oil served as a condiment on the table , packs a mighty punch . I love Chinese food. I have travelled to China and eaten it there, and also eaten it across the world. The one thing I have to say about the Hong Kong Tea Bar is this. The hot and sour soup I had there was in the top three, maybe top two That I have ever tasted. It really is that good. Cold Coke, very hot (temperature wise) soup, and a main of beef with ginger and pineapple. The soup was hot, it was spicy, it was thick, it was moreish. It was so hot, I managed to eat my main while waiting for it to cool down. The food and service is excellent. The Hong Kong Teabar is under new ownership and the experience seems to have improved. At first I noticed changes to the dishes and thought that it was going to be a change for the worse but after going back a few times more I think it's actually better than it was before. The old owners seem to have plenty of issues with environmental health which was always a bit of a downer when the food seemed good. I spoke to the new proprietor soon after he took the business on and he seemed like a decent person. I will be continuing my weekly visit because I love the place. Before the pandemic I was a regular here and rated it highly . After the pandemic I found that it had been taken over by new management. I find that the staff are not as friendly and standards have slipped. The food is generally good but not as nice as it was for some reason The toilets have been out of order for around 2 weeks now and the nearest toilets are in McDonalds which staff encouraged customers to use. It is around a 5 minute walk away which is not convenient. Last time I went in there was a notice saying there would be a slight increase in price. I’ve been a patron oh HKTB for 20 years, it’s incredibly rare that there is a problem with the food. The ownership recently changed over to new owners, I ordered soft belly pork which tastes nothing like the old chefs, it was overly salty and not palatable at all. The pork was soft in some areas and dried out in others.
