Lunch today at the store's café. Clean and modern with wonderful views over the harbour. Usual lovely stuff on the menu. Very good wholesome soup today. Average coffee.

was in the shopping and found their restaurant on the floor, which means that it has an excellent view over the marina. as it was in the morning, we decided to have b/f sandwich. probably one of the best speck sandwiches I had and the same for. the sausages of my wife. both on large fresh bread well cooked and filling and at a very favorable price. we were on the weekend, only a scandal that they are not open on Sunday and Monday!

Ordered the Welsh rarebit for a friend and myself. I had enjoyed this on previous occasions whilst visiting Torquay. How disappointing the single slice of bread had barely been toasted. The topping was totally tasteless and certainly didn't contain English mustard, Worcestershire or ale. It...was basically a slice of soggy bread with cheese on the accompanying salad and relish were miniscule. Quality and value both lacking and we will not be returning.

The restaurant is based on the top floor of Hoopers Department Store. There is an extensive menu-I sat looking for ages before deciding what to have because there is a very wide choice I plumped for the vegetarian frittata with salad at which was...excellent. Five of us visited for lunch. The experience was mixed. My aged Mother ordered Ham Cheese Panini which was as tough as old boots. She could not cut it with a knife. As a consequence, we took another knife from another table but...same result. We asked if they had any sharper knives such as a steak knife. The response was no use what you have got. At the end, I spoke with a table minder to suggest that they test their dishes before putting them on the menu. The response suggested that the owners were not interested in customer concerns. Generally, the food was good. It is a shame that Hoopers are not plugged into improving their offering.

with almost everything closed along the harbour, as it is januar and from the season was suggested I go to hoopers. on the top floor with magnificent harbour view must be some of the seats with a look like gold dust. it's a...common operation with a small selection on the display, including beautiful looking cheeses, I decided to have a cheese bevel quiche with salad all very nice with a beautiful tomat chutney. the opposite is dirty, they try to sell boilers, toaster, cute discounted white china as well as cards, serviettes and other items, and it makes the place look messy carpet in the front area is dirty and worn and love to detail required that the chef sends some nicely presented delic...

We arrived and waited for a table as the staff seemed to be all over the place but just waited until we went to a table that was free all the time . We then got told to order at the till which we tried...to do but then got told by the lady at the counter she had to much to do so sit down and wait which we did then people went up and got served as there was no organisation what so ever then when we did get to order they said there’s no bread left so went to order a coffee and got told there was no skimmed milk really poor customer service and a poor experience. The only time things ran slightly smoother was when a very smart lady who I can only think is the boss was helping them . Best advice... Speisekarte ansehen
