"We had originally planned to go to Chez Colette but had not booked and there were no tables at that time and were starved to spend the afternoon kayak on the Dordogne. This place was a beautiful find. The staff is friendly and efficient... and the food is simple, but excellent. We had the Entrecôte Steak, the beef burger and the minced steak and the fried egg. The steak was extremely delicate and cooked for perfection. Water came as standard, there was a wide selection of soft drinks as well as a selection of interesting local bottles of beer. Deserts were mainly Ben and Jerry ice, but waffles etc were also present and the coffee was excellent. The best piece after a simple but excellent meal was the bill. Much less than we both appreciated and they seemed enthusiastic when we left a tip. This is not a posh night, but it was a perfect end for an active day and we will definitely be back."

"We regularly eat in Beaulieu sur Dordogne on a Friday evening, and there are similar restaurants to choose from. There is a fixed menu at 32 € but we opted for the 42 € menu, as we both fancied the scallops starter which was very good. The rest of the meal was good without wowing us. Service was a bit slow, but polite. We came away asking ourselves why the restaurant though that this menus was roughly 10 € more expensive than the alternatives.......... Quite happy with the meal, but on reflection too pricey."

"The place is nice, the room staff at the top and reactive. The menu envelops with its great titles but finally in the mouth what disappointment... From beginning to end. It's a shame given the price. Small exception for the chef's specialty the calf ris but you must add 10 extra on the menu... Sketches of snails on bone has very dry marrow, broth with very fat and tasteless ravioli with cherry tomatoes that float in. Kick with bits...2 small sandy bits and even not boned. Vacherin cassis and guimauves... or are the guimauves?? Very dry brownie and we always look for the light cream timut pepper. Brief experience not to renew damage to the framework"

"We spent three nights at the Beaulieu in half boarding. The staff is smiling, friendly, professional and you are pleasantly welcomed. Our room was clean and very nicely decorated. As for breakfast it is correct but the room is not very convenient because everything in length. Come in half board we offer you the choice between 3 admissions, 3 courses and 3 desserts. The products are fresh, regional in the whole and tasteful except the 1st evening when I was served a dried merlu net accompanied by tagliatelles cooked with water no sauce even no butter in the pasta, I was disappointed but good the other 2 evenings were a lot, much better I dine an exceptional calf and a spider of mellow pork. Ah yes, I was going to forget there's a terrace where we were able to have breakfast and dinner is one more in the beautiful season. If you go to Beaulieu on Dordogne, don't hesitate."
