We tried to have drink/meal here and all I will say is that we felt so welcomed by the waiter that we drove off to have a Kebab. Service: 1

Not at all suitable for long-walk trekkers- zero flexibility in changing reservation or cancelling several days earlier due to slight plan changes for bad weather conditions. Full price requested anyhow. To be avoided.

Sehr schöner Ort. Alter romantischer Stil. Großartige Einrichtung. Die Zimmer sind sauber und schön. Das Frühstück ist gut. Das Restaurant hat eine tolle Auswahl und das Essen ist köstlich! Hotel -The staff is helpful and friendly. -The location is ideal for quick access to the ski lift. -The loft is spacious -The only small problem is the location of the toilet paper which makes it difficult to sit correctly on the toilet. (Yes, there still had to be a negative point) Restaurant. -The service and product quality are excellent. -We ate very well. -On the other hand, given the price it would have been nice if the plates were a little more delicious and generous. We had a pleasant stay.

Warning! I got food poisoning from the restaurant from a severely undercooked hamburger during dinner. (August 11th, 2024, in the evening) I foolishly ate half of it before complaining to the waiter (big dude), who oddly admitted that the chef likes to serve undercooked ground beef no matter how many times he tells the chef not to?? I was walking the Haute Route and had one of the worst nights and following days of my life afterwards walking to Gruben. Seriously. I will forever curse the name of the irresponsible chef of Restaurant Le Besso.

As part of our Haute Route trip we booked the loft and a double bedroom at Le Besso. First of all the location is central near the grocery store, the bakery, etc. Secondly, the building is the oldest hotel in Zinal and has a lot of charm. Yes it comes with some drawbacks (no lift, bathrooms are cramped), but for us we really enjoyed our stay here. The double bedroom had a nice roof terrace while the loft had plenty of internal space. At the groundfloor there is the restaurant and terrace. Food exceeded our expectations and was fairly priced. Speisekarte ansehen
