"The stay at the hotel was great but the restaurant was very disappointing The main problem came from the position of the table : it was the worst one, at the deep end of the room. If the restaurant was full, I would have of course understood and would 'nt complain, it 's just bad luck. But in our case, the first service was finished, so another nice table was free, but the manager refuses to just prepare this table. It was against restaurant policy , just to clean a table and prepare for the next guest. It was very frustrating to stay on the worst table of the restaurant with a view on a dirty wall while the view on the dining room could have been very nice. Apart from that, the dinner was not bad, but far from a Michelin experience : we had bread coming to the table, then removed without a word, then put again, then removed again, then put again, still without a word. This bread was quite dry. The dessert was decent but you can find it in any good restaurant. When they serve a glass of wine, the size is ridiculously small (see photo) The pigeon was (according to me) the only really special and tasty meal, really nicely cooked."

"The Mediterranean influence is strong in Bergen op Zoom, but most of the places stay in the fast food genre, mostly serving doner kebabs with a surfeit of mayonnaised fries. Grieks takes it up a notch and a price point. While the Netherlands is by no means Germany, it still seems that the traveler must deliberately seek out greenery. Thus, I was once again foraging for salad. Grieks isn't a take-out kind of a place, and not surprisingly, doesn't have plasticware, but they were kind enough to accommodate me with two boxed Greek salads and an on-tap Amstel while I waited. For what must be a starter, the salad was generously loaded with cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, olives, and feta. The tomatoes were predictably a little underripe, and the dressing was too light. But the feta and olives more than made up for these deficiencies. Apollo would approve of this fine restaurant on the square."

"Ik wil mijn ontevredenheid uiten over de ervaring die wij vandaag hadden tijdens onze high cocktail voor acht personen. We hadden gereserveerd om 18:30, maar volgens de dame die ons hielp, stond er 18:00 genoteerd, waardoor wij al te laat waren bij aankomst. Het eerste drankje en hapje werd om 18:45 geserveerd. Verder werd alles in een erg rap tempo geserveerd, waardoor we nauwelijks tijd hadden om van onze drankjes te genieten. Rond 21:45 werd ons gevraagd of we nog iets wilden drinken voor de laatste ronde omdat ze gingen sluiten. Toen wij aangaven dat de zaak tot 23:00 open was, werd ons op een erg arrogante toon verteld dat ze ons niet tot sluitingstijd zouden bedienen, en dat ze vroeg of we nog wat wilde drinken?! omdat ze niet voor één tafel open zouden blijven. De houding en het gedrag van de serveerster waren absoluut niet acceptabel. Haar houding en de manier waarop ze met ons sprak, waren zeer onaangenaam. Dit heeft de gehele ervaring behoorlijk negatief beïnvloed. Er ontstond een woordenwisseling, waarna de deur onvriendelijk voor ons werd gesloten met het verzoek om te vertrekken. Terwijl onze glazen nog vol waren. Ik hoop dat u deze feedback serieus neemt en de nodige stappen onderneemt om ervoor te zorgen dat dit soort situaties in de toekomst worden vermeden. Wij hadden hoge verwachtingen van ons bezoek, maar deze zijn helaas niet waargemaakt. En is dit ook de laatste keer dat wij hier komen."
