"We were staying at the Premier Inn, just 5 minutes away, and decided to go out for a snack. We were so impressed with the pizza that we ended up going back for more. We tried the Spicy Mexican, which had plenty of toppings and a light, fluffy crust. The woman who served us and made the pizza was excellent, very friendly and skilled at making delicious pizzas. She definitely deserves a shoutout for her great service."

Watched a band nearby and needed post pub sustenance. Poor kebab, not that warm, average chilli sauce, sub standard salad. Glad I was drunk!

The food at this restaurant was awful. It was very greasy and undercooked, and there were hairs in both the chips and fried chicken. When I called to complain, the man I spoke to was extremely rude and accused me of lying about the quality of the food. He even tried to justify his behavior by claiming he had the right to be rude.

I ordered a chicken dish but it was undercooked and the cheese was bland. However, the pizza was enjoyable. The delivery driver arrived 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled time and left a voicemail threatening to leave if I didn't answer within 1 minute. "Terrible. I ordered momos, Everest lamb and steamed rice. You get about 10 momos with the broth and side which is acceptable for £10. On a first bite yes they are nice but then you look and realise they are all far too uniform and are shop bought absolutely not made on the premises so I could have zipped to oriental express and got some for the freezer! No happy. The broth was a bit bland. Then we move to the curry do you think the customer is stupid? I could taste allspice and it hadn’t cooked out so was horrible and overpowering. The lamb was as tough as old boots so had not cooked off enough either. I was gonna give leftovers to my teen son but I chucked it down the toilet instead as I want him to know quality and this was not how Nepalese food should taste. What sort of clowns are running this parade?!!"

"I wore up without reservation and they kindly equipped me with a timeline that was great. I started with the sweet choir and chicken soup that was good, but nothing exciting. I had a last minute change of heart after I saw the char sui on the menu and added the fried mushroom rice. the tear should have cloged in him and for a five it should have, not. it was also a little oily. my head came with steamed brokkoli, which was unfortunately cold. the char sui had too much five seasoned for me and it overwhelmed every other taste. it wasn't like char sui. I finished all my food so it's decent, maybe my expectations were high, I would try it again. updated by previous review on 2022-09-15"

"What an experience Skosh is! Was really looking forward to trying and booked quite a way in advance for our anniversary. Beautiful small plates, can highly recommend the duck breast, chicken gochujang, tempura brocolli and pork belly. Everything seems so well considered, maybe an obvious thing to say, but not every considered decision results in such a beautiful outcome. Even down to the crockery choices. I wish it were bigger, the small table for two is small. Some of the seating options are more of bar stool arrangement, which isn't for everyone, me included. Skosh is a real pearl of find in York. Definitely go, it's not just dinner: it's an event."

"The Lemon Sugar crepe came loaded with cinnamon by default. I am allergic. When i pointed out that Cinnamon was not noted as contents the manager tried to justify it by saying the business was not obligated to tell me what was in the crepe Then she came over to where I was sitting to tell me again how she was right and I was wrong Eventually the manager gave me a full refund. But really I wasn’t looking for that. I was just looking for a simple and much cheaper apology."

"The food was stunning. We went for the chefs selection which was the 5 courses. I loved every dish!!! I was also left feeling full with the generous loaf of beautiful bread that is given at the start of the meal, to accompany the courses. There was also canapes before the meal while we had a drink in their bar area. The service was also outstanding, everyone very knowledgeable about the wines and courses. It was a very pleasant and tasty experience. My only slight negative would be that it just is a little too stark. There isn't really any atmosphere. It's just too bright inside. I was hoping once it got a little darker outside that they would lower the lights for a more intimate dining experience but it didn't happen. It leaves me feeling very aware of the other diners. It is hard to relax into a meal when you're so aware of the room and the people. If they can turn the lights down then it would be a perfect dining experience.... if you have the cash! A variety of foods, from potato, scallops (2, which was generous! , fish, pork, and there was a lovely generous eccles cakes, flat breads, apple etc to go with the cheese. You get to choose the cheese as they bring a trolley to you so that was also great. Lovely wines for each course which matched the food so well too."
