As we have lived in monaco for years, I can't believe we have never been to this place before.Really great food starting with the garlic bread, following with the beef and ending in great desserts.It was expensive but the 3 bottles of Lynch Bages didn't help the bill.We will return"

Been coming here for many years and it just gets better and better. A simple menu cooked over an open fire. They say "on ne change rien" but in fact they do keep making small tweaks to stay on top of their game. A delightful place, a wonderful family and the food brings you back again and again.

The Chaumiere is located up on the mountain, so might be a bit of a drive from Nice (it's about 15-20min from Monaco) but is definitely worth the drive!Cute typical house, with a huge fireplace where they cook the meat... seasonned to perfection! I believe they are only open on Fridays and Saturdays...

Wow. Wonderfully rustic feel to the place...spent half my time simply enjoying the meat being cooked on the open fire right next to me. The food itself was incredible. The figs and foie gras starter took me completely by surprise, the steak was unbelievable. Would happily go well out of my way to return.

Looks and feels like a traditional restaurant, not sophisticated, doesn't pretend to be. We have visited a number of times now and always have the menu degustation, not cheap at 89 euro's, wine not included. A simple choice of meat cooked on the open fire, beef, lamb or chicken (think this must be pre-ordered). Menu includes home made tapenade and 'grilled' bread, a large basket of lovely fresh vegetables (self served rustic crudities) the meat course and dessert. This time I had the lamb which was delicious. Has a good atmosphere and you can see the meat cooked from your table, we wouldn't go to often because it doesn't change, but a nice change.

This family run auberge sits high above Cap Ferat although technically it is in Nice. It is a rustic place which serves an amazing set menu, beginning with antipasti of prosciutto, marinated mushrooms, aubergine, and garden vegetables in an enormous basket. Then your choice of beef, lamb or maigret which are cooked before your eyes on the open fireplace in the main dining room. There are potatoes baked in their jackets in the same fire. Several choices for dessert as well, some of which come with a milking bucket filled with creme fraiche. The gastronomic experience takes a couple of hours and you won't leave hungry. A wonderful and (for the Côte d'Azur) unique night out.

for years our family have been regular visitors to la chaumier when spending the summer on Eze Borde Mer.we are always warmly welcomed,catch up on local happenings and have a splendid time when dining at this long established,well managed family owned restaurant.on this occasion the thirteen of us split into two tables-eight and five.we had the verandah section all to ourselves,which allowed for the usual bantering between us.the place was fully booked with the sounds of people having a good time.there was celebration group present.we all joined in singing happy birthday when the sparkling cake arrived.we selected as always the the set menu((€86),chosing main courses of beef,lamb and chicken...
