in this place in the center of taormina we ate well and with abundant portions. Unfortunately there were some in, the lack of qr Menù but above all the presence of ancients. heavy and little presentable traditional menus and staff, everything and everywhere, though kind and courteous, without mask.

This place was close to our accomodation. We got a nice table outside on one of the little terrace areas near the steps. We ordered and then waited a very long time, nearly an hour, for the food to come out. The meals were average at best and quite bland. There are plenty of options in Taormina. This is not one I would recommend.

Excellent venue and not just a great venue but great meal too situated in one of the winding side streets off the Corso Umberto, the Grotto has a very atmospheric setting and majors on its fish/seafood with an impressive glass topped fridge displaying its collection. Very good service too and gets popular, deservedly so too. Well worth checking out

This was our best meal in Sicily. My wife and I stumbled upon this delightful little spot on a random Wednesday night and it was the best decision we ever made. We had the shrimp, the spaghetti, the sea bass, the seafood risotto and it was all perfect. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Music in the streets set the ambience. After all, it was our honeymoon!!! Can’t recommend it enough.

We had reservations at another restaurant. We were on our way when we saw this restaurant’s fresh fish display. They had small fish that was too much to pass up. We started talking with Bartolommeo. We asked him if we could get a plate of the small fish fried with a glass of white wine. He said yes. We sat down and listened to a gentle guitar playing right outside of the restaurant with open windows. The fish came and we decided to cancel the other restaurant reservations. We had frutta di mare and pasta with clams. All were excellent!!!

The food was good, however, the service minimal to rude .. particularly the woman who took payment. When I asked what the first charge of 6 euros was on the bill, she claimed it was a cover charge and that all restaurants charged it. Actually .. no they don’t. If so, perhaps it’s hidden but I’ve not seen it previously. I didn’t complain, just asked. Then she proceeded to tell me it was for table cloths, napkins, etc. What?! That’s the cost of doing business and customers don’t ask you to use these things, that’s a restaurants choice. With all the options in this town, we won’t return there. Obviously they don’t rely on repeat service and treat tourists as one time customers.

We visited for lunch we were really disappointed. The waiter/owner was very abrupt and unwelcoming. We were given dry bread, no butter or olive oil. We were abruptly told one dish had finished my husband was rushed to order an alternative. The waitress was yelling very loudly aggressively in the kitchen it made the atmosphere tense not relaxing. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks about 45 minutes for our meal to arrive. It was not even fresh pasta. We saw them bringing dried pasta into the restaurant for the meals! My swordfish was average I had asked if it came with veg. The waiter told me it did but it only came with dried up lettuce! Totally over priced terrible service.

Having booked we eagerly looked forward to eating here despite seeing a few reviews indicating an issue with customer service. Having arrived 10 minutes before our alloted time we were met with indifference and an attempt to shunt us to an area away from the main tabling area we had requested (and were assured would be made available), we were also informed we could eat inside. Upon explaining why we had specifically booked the area we did we were asked to wait inside (things started to look up when two glasses of processco were brought to us. After almost 35 minutes of waiting we were informed a table was ready. This was the single table jammed up against the wall near to the entrance again...
