Excellent repas avec un service très agréable, je recommande vivement. Je recommande également le mi-thon et les huîtres du terroir.

On reflection we looked at the menu and the prices and thought that they were a tad high. However you get what you pay for the food was delicious, mainly fish and the service was very good. So in the end we are glad that we ate there.

We were looking for a sea food restaurant. Ideally located near the famous aquarium of La Rochelle, this is the ideal spot to eat some fresh sea food. Large range of choices, it might be a bit expensive. Otherwise great experience overall.

We wanted a special place for lunch and particularly seafood. This came recommended and we were not disappointed. It is not cheap but the quality is very high, the service excellent and the restaurant not at all pretentious like some higher end places can be. There are a few meat options (which were good according to my kids) but you don't come here for meat. You come here for the super fresh fish and shell fish. Good puds too all home made. Nice wine menu, friendly servers and well, everything was just right.

When I just got La rochelle with my brother, Air bnb host recommended this restaurant and I had a really great time. Lovely Staff and owner were very helpful and they explained the menu and the way french eat the sea food. The menu and food was feblulous and big portions too. For me, the octopus dish of there was the best one I have ever in Europe because It wasn't too salty and the seasoning was just right for me and my brother. It was pouring with rain as we 'fell into the door ' of this restaurant and, although they were full, they were most accommodating in finding us a little table by the window. We enjoyed 2 x 2 glasses of Pastis [eur16.00]. We both chose Soupe Poisson [eur24.00] and, although it was tasty, it wasn 't the best we 'd ever had and it was too large a portion for a starter. We both followed this with 2 x Fritto Misto [eur42.00]; Butterfly prawns, calamari scallops. Again tasty but not the best we 'd had. Total bill was Eur90.00 service compris, although we left a small extra tip as our waiter was delightful and nothing was too much trouble for him.

Called for lunch, having not used this place previously, so it was an experiment. We were not disappointed in fact we were very pleased to step away from the central masses of restaurants to try this one. It became fairly full but not uncomfortable. Great service from the three people there and no hesitation in allowing us to vary one of the dishes a little. The cod was unusually well cooked most places even on the coast hereabouts over cook it, in my experience. The burger de la mer was very good decent quantities of cod and salmon. The café gourmand was good (with excellent coconut cake). Only one slight issue not enough to lose points was that the tarte tatin pastry base was a bit leather...

The restaurant has a nice nautical ambience. In windy or inclement weather, it might be best to sit somewhere away from the windows, especially those of their tent extension, because it can get quite draughty. I ate here about 3 or 4 times. I got good food and good friendly service. You can spend a lot of money here, because they have some very expensive delicacies on the menu. They specialise in seafood and crustaceans, but they also have some meat dishes including lamb, which was excellent. They have some inclusive menus, which appear to offer a saving against ordering the items individually. I particularly liked the grilled sardines as a starter.
