Loved this place. Favorite meal of this stay. Very good food, terrific atmosphere and good service. A neighborhood gem with a real flavor of Paris

Nice place, lovely staff. However, average food that is massively overpriced. Fish main out of the freezer for EUR 60. and a langoustine starter for EUR 40. including 3 pieces. Would never go back.

Traditional brasserie with some kitschy interior design accents, flamboyant yet efficient staff and decent meals, but at a premium. Hesitated after reading some negative reviews. Went in at 12:00 first in restaurant. Staff accommodating and polite. Nice atmosphere. Took the 60 Euro menu for 2 and bottle of wine . Onion soup flavorful. Escargot nice and garlicky . Good bread . Hachis is shredded brisket with mash potatoes also good. The quenelles good different . Nice big fresh leafy salad. An awful experience: The tables are so close together that one cannot get up from the bench without pulling the table all the way forward. The hustle in the restaurant was unbearable. Our service was APPALLING. The maitre’d was so cocky and disinterested in our complaints, leaving us ignored. The food was ‘ok’ at best. GROSSLY overpriced for the quality and flavour and so below our expectation. Majorly disappointing. My partner and I arrived at Poule au Pot no more than a minute or two late for a 9:00 p.m. reservation that had been made through the restaurant 's online reservation system almost a month in advance. Upon arriving and greeting the host and mentioning our reservation in French, Thomas , responded to us in English that he did not have a reservation for us. When I showed him the confirmation email, he pointed at the date on the email that notes when the reservation was made and insisted that was the date of our reservation and that we had made a mistake.
