"We were referred to this wonderful place by a very nice Barka skipper Mirko whom we hired for an unforgettable private tour around the island of Siracusa. Simone greeted us warmly and we became instant friends. The service was excellent, the food was a life changing experience for us and even though we decided to try a different restaurant every night that week, we are abandoning the plan and hope they can squeeze us in next visit. This is a family run restaurant. Simone’s wife Jasmine and her sister are working there two. These people not only have established a beautifully designed place and make delicious dishes, they are humble and warm and very respectful. Don’t miss this experience next time you are in Ortigia/Siracusa."

So far the best restaurant we ate in Sicily. We ordered the pasta with seagood and eggplant with fish. Everything was very good. We enjoyed every bite. Highly recommended! We also took tuna carpacio, it was a bit less successful.

Pranzato con mia moglie in questa tipica trattoria siciliana. E siamo rimasti contenti per i piatti tipici ed il servizio. Dagli antipasti di pesce ai primi e via con il bere. Tutto nella tradizione siciliana. Bella esperienza e consigliato!!!

Oggi abbiamo pranzato molto bene. Frittura di paranza voto pesce freschissimo . Cozze in guazzetto voto squisite Bigoli La Tavernetta voto pasta fresca , salsa eccezionale, quantità discreta. Dolce semifreddo al pistacchio voto Cordialità del personale voto Qualità/Prezzo voto complimenti ai gestori sicuramente faremo il passaparola!

Wonderful food and charming, caring host and servers. I have just read some of the other reviews and totally agree with the description of the 'humble ' people who own and serve at this restaurant. We had happily dined her in 2015 and 2018 and returned for three nights this year. Every aspect of the restaurant is top notch. My husband, who is not prone to compliments described La Tavernetta uno da Simone as a 'well run restaurant with delicious food '. Everything that we ordered each evening was delicious and the Pasta a la Norma was the best I had ever had in 4 trips to Sicily.

"a dinner in general good, though with some dripping. the quality of raw materials is certainly excellent but not always appreciated at the most. I felt a bit on the roller coaster with a beaten finish. Although the place I like for its modern and minimal style, I find that there is a lack of personality and identity. the atmosphere is elegant and welcoming. the service was accurate, punctual and never intrusive. special mention to the sommelier who recommended me a great wine and a novelty for me, with the menu degotato. begins with a degotation of oil and focaccia. Stop, you can't leave! among other things all yeast from their products are very unified. the moment of the event is an explosion of flavors, three particular and delicious finger food, especially the enamelled fig. the appetizer provides tuna with figs and pistachios.
