"A mixed bag. The room is lovely, located near the highest point in Bonnieux. It had rained earlier in the day, so we weren 't seated on the terrace, which has a great view. The meal was accompanied by a pianist and a trumpeter who played and sang jazz standards. Some people like this sort of ambiance; as a musician and a music historian, I don 't, especially because it is almost impossible for it to transcend the dreadful cliche of supper club jazz. We all ordered the focaccia appetizer with truffles, which was excellent. Both of my dinner companions ordered the pork, which they liked very much. I ordered the grilled sea bass, which was large, tough, and flavorless. One cannot simply throw a fresh fish on a grill and call it a dish. I 'm unclear as to the exact relationship between Le Bergerie and its Michelin-rated parent restaurant across the courtyard, but my meal was simply not worthy of a star."

"the wind, during our passage, forced us to eat inside where stone and architecture have a lot of charm. the terrace seems very pleasant with a panoramic view. The reception and service are suitable. We've tasted good house burgers. also home desserts are very good. a place to go for a break during the visit of this very picturesque Provençal village."

"delicious pizzas served by a charming and effective young girl. a beautiful terrace and a pleasant room. Although the tables are a little close, but not more than in other restaurants. the only flat would be the non-port of the mask by it, as well as some regulars who cross the restaurant. The gestures quickly forget, unfortunately."

"We made a return visit from 2 years ago when we had an incredible meal. hoping for a similar experience. Unfortunately the Bastide has been sold and the gastronomic experience was terrible. Firstly they have several menus available and they are all meat with 1 fish choice or a total vegetarian menu. We were informed that we would both have to choose the same menu as this was restaurant policy...very strange! We opted for the vegetarian menu which was an eye watering 130 euros each. Every course would have fitted into an egg cup, was served luke warm and had no flavour. We had to return the main course as it was so bad. The total cost of the ingredients would have not come to more than 25 euros. They even served bottled artichokes when fresh were available everywhere in the area. Breakfast was just as poor, I asked for fresh fruit and was presented with a small bowl of shrivelled grapes still on the stalk along with a few dried figs ! Such a disapointment when this is an extremely expensive hotel and restaurant. Unfortunately the view is not enough, and the new owners need to look again at their restaurant food and policy."
